I just discovered something that I didn' know...

Mean Gene used to be a singer. A pretty reasonable one too. He was in a band called "Gene Carrol and The Shades". Okerlund was his real name, I figure it was just to sound better, which is crazy to think about because "Mean Gene Okerlund" is a sick name... Although maybe not for this Richie Valens type act he had back in the 50s.



He's the guy on the right on the white jacket in this pic.

Then when WWF released an album in 1985 he sang this.



Believe it or not/If you remember he was also the first person that sang the American National Anthem at Wrestlemania, doing so at Wrestlemania 1 - for some strange reason video footage of this butchery is hard to find, but here's a photo.

Strongest first two posts I've seen in a thread in a long time.

Vince and family have always recognized outside the business accomplishments.. I respect that. Good tradition. Mean Jeans song sounds better than most rap; literally.
