Melodic Death Metal songs, discussion, appreciation and other fun things

The thing I always loved about Melodeath was, it had the brutal vocals, with quality, crushing, hard hitting riffage that is memorable as fuck.

It's a gateway too the heavier shit.
 
I don't really like the "melodeath" that Carcass and At The Gates inspired when they turned shit, but there are a few decent songs from certain artists here and there.





 
I'm not into "melodic death metal" much at all, it tends to sound either too happy to be metal at all and when it doesn't sound like the Smurfs played with metal acoustics it's almost always "I'm a sad homo hear me whine" stuff.

Now that I shat on the genre, I have to say I appreciate this:

It's like Soilworkers suddenly got bored making their usual stuff, grew a pair and went just balls out.

I know what you mean but there's some good Melo death out there
