I think I now know why UFC fighters arent mobilizing for a union.

MLA players have a union and they only get 20% of the revenue.

According to our very own frankienyc ufc fighters are already getting around 17% of the revenue.

why would you go through the hassle of setting up a union, paying all those dues and maybe even risking your career for just 3% more?

don't unions do more than revenue? health care, working conditions, job security, pensions?

Team sports and individual sports work differently. Star players in team sports are incentivized to unionise because they need the help of their lesser paid team mates to succeed. In fight sports however, someone like Conor does not need to help anyone else out.

how does anybody know that the fighters make 17%? I guess thats just disclosed money. We really dont know what percentage they make becasue of undisclosed money like ppv points and lockerroom bonuses.

I guarantee you Mike Perry doesn’t give a shit how much MMA fans are paid as a janitor or dentist or whatever.

Same with soccer, you think fucking Ronaldo cares how much you’re paid?

What a horribly thought out comparison. Jesus Christ.
