Moron, I stated correctly that they kept quiet until they were sure of what happened, only revealing that it was "suspicious". So-called "sources" later said it could be murder-suicide, but this was never stated officially by police.

By all accounts the guy was an asshole anyway, so I could give a fuck either way.
 
Their bodies were found with men's belts around their necks, both had on jackets "that were pulled around their backs" with the sleeves rolled down their arms and both were in a semi-sitting position. The camera in the pool area where their bodies were found had been deactivated.

Yes, the family was very upset that the cops originally stated it was a suicide.

If the cops were scared to death of saying it was something it wasn't, then that is precisely what they did.

No wonder the family was extremely upset about that statement.

In reality, I'm thinking its a case of Cops knowing "husband kills wife then kills himself" happens often enough that without glaring evidence to the contrary its an easy conclusion to come to that doesn't require a shitton of leg work and paperwork

The police were running with the theory that it was a murder-suicide. If not for the couple’s children hiring investigators, they would still be bumbling around trying to figure out who killed who. Ask @therealdope what he thinks of the handling by the Toronto PD.

You can claim they did that all you want, but there's no official statement or evidence of it. They waited for the autopsy to conclude and for the investigation to progress before deciding it was murder.

We won't know what the police were doing. They might have been trying to keep information from the public while they investigated.

Are you ever way off base. That was the whole problem when this first came out on the news. The police were extremely careless in their statements and were informing people that it was a murder/suicide when anyone with a tiny bit of common sense could see it was no such situation.

Not that it will ever happen, but if I was a Billionaire, I would spare no expense at all on security. I'd hire a small army of ex-Military, LEO's and Spooks. I'd pay them very well to ensure loyalty. There's no way I'd be alone in a house with my family; there would be armed security somewhere on site.
