BJJ - 1 Hour

Conditioning sucked today, but fought through it. We worked close guard specific training for 15 mins or so & then sparred 6x6 min rounds. Need to get on the mats more consistently to fix my conditioning but work keeps getting in the way. Headed to Denver tomorrow.

Pretty good workout, first time I've tried towel chins - those were pretty damn cool.
 
I've been in a lot of hotel bars. Not sure I've ever been in a hotel gym.

Conditioning

Biking:
- 6.67 mi in 27:21
- Avg Speed, 14.6 mph
- Max Speed, 19.8 mph
- Avg HR: 135 bpm

Left my car downtown last night, biked down this morning to get it. Took the long way so it counts as some conditioning - wish I had taken an even longer route, it was quicker than I thought.

Did some specific training today, I worked half-guard exclusively. Got a couple of nice sweeps I've been working on. Still struggled with some of the really big guys though. Got to figure that out. After specific training, sparring - did 6x6 min rounds.

Kings is closed today - they are shooting a commercial with Mike Tyson. So no BJJ. Gym felt decent. I think I may be ready to go back to actual deadlifts nxt week. On bench, 225 & 235 both felt heavy & I wasn't really comfortable under the bar - this will improve with time though. On a plus side, tons of hot chicks at the gym today.

Right shoulder has been giving me a lot of trouble lately. Not sure why. But I was able to do Press today, but not able to do chins, curls or dips...hopefully it fixes itself soon.

Did actual deadlifts today, 1st time in a few months. Light weight but treated everything seriously.Back was fine. Shoulder was a little sensitive with Bench so I kept it super light as well. Found this cool Row machine at the gym, did rows on it. Fun! Couldn't do BB Curls due to the shoulder issue, but preacher curls were ok.

Beautiful 75 degree day yesterday so I got on the bike. Felt great.

BJJ - 1 Hour

1st training session of the new year. 1 hour of sparring. Conditioning is back to zero, so that sucks.

Nope. No gis, no booze. Sad. But I did get some Clemson pajamas, so that was cool. I had all 4 of my daughters at my house for Christmas this year - 1st time ever. It was really nice.

BJJ - 1 Hour

Did some nice x-pass drilling, then open guard specific training. Followed that with 3 x 5 minute rounds of sparring. I was able to work half & x-guard, which was cool. I haven't played much x-guard, but transitioning to x-guard from half for the sweep worked well for me today - I think I'll keep messing around with it.
 
I've just got the 1 daughter. I have to share her though.

BJJ - 1.5 Hours

Spent the last 8 days with a gout flare up in my foot. Sucked. Felt great to get back on the mats today. Class was the instructor, me & a bunch of white belts. Was really fun to open my game up & try a bunch of different stuff. Had a great time.
