Started Crypt of the Necrodancer since it's on sale. Man I suck at this.

What is NPD?: NPD is one of the main retail tracking firms in the U.S., and also about the only one who specifically goes into detail on video games sales.

Thread will be updated in a week when official numbers are revealed, however a cuck at Resetera receives detail approx a week before official drop. So these totals should hold.

Game hardware sales volume on a relative basis:

Switch: 1
3DS: 0.32
PS4: 0.71
Xbox One: 0.58
Others: 1.37

YoY:
Switch: +18%
3DS: -20%
PS4: -14%
Xbox One: +16%
Others: #ERROR

Software side (physical only): Octopath Traveller was the top selling software title, followed by MK8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: BotW

Great 2 months for Nintendo, as NES Classic reigned supreme in June, now Switch takes the gold in July, and is also expected to put great numbers in August. Also quite impressive for Octopath Traveler, a new IP RPG. Nintendos strategy of offering a preview months back built up some positive momentum for the title.

However, lurking in the horizon for Sony in September is the highly anticipated Spider-Man, including system bundles which is expected to place Sony back on top.
