That's funny, I have literally no deisre to play online. But I think once the online game returns, more people will wind up playing live as well.

I hope so, i must the American donks the most. Disposable income specialists lol

Hellmuth seems very easy to put on tilt. When a player bluffs him and shows him the cards after Hellmuth folds he goes off.

During the twice weekly tourney at the club, I had a rule...
I would only show my cards ONCE per tourney (if at all)… If you wanted to see what I had, put those chips in the middle.

I never show unless I have a crazy hand like a straight flush or quads.

That's not a bad rule to have. I used to show my cards more often than I should have (especially to people who show me theirs) but I've come to value keeping my cards hidden more often now unless there is a purpose in me showing my cards.

I've developed one rule from playing last year. I must bluff with a 2-7 offsuit at least once during a session of poker and I must show it if I win the pot.

It does two things for me. It loosens me up because my default game is tight and aggressive and by looking for a 2-7 offsuit to bluff I am more likely to bluff with other cards a bit more often creating a more balanced gameplay. It makes me more unpredictable to my opponents. The risks are worth the gains. Second if I successfully show the 2-7 offsuit bluff people will see me as an aggressively loose player (which would be incorrect) and it will hopefully induces more calls when I actually have the goods.

I tend to do that with 10-4, and I make an obnoxious show, win or lose, of calling it the "good buddy" to drum up some action. Doesn't work against smart people though lol.

I'll jump back in for that, and it looks good for legal poker in the next 5 years maybe. I can't be bothered to play with the way things are right now, been burned twice (Paradise Poker also got me back in the day, when they shut off to US players). Nothing worse than having your roll in limbo.

I played quite a bit like 10 yrs ago with the boom but was also a broke college student at the time. That, combined with the nearest poker rooms being over an hour away at Mohegan and Foxwoods made it so I had hardly played at all for several years.

But now they opened a room literally less than 10 mins from my house. It's great because the option is there, but bad because I want to keep going back lol and I don't really have time to do it more than once a month tops.

Have gone twice in the past few weeks, playing 1/2 no limit and buying in with around $100. I am up around $120 overall, so nothing crazy but it's been a lot of fun and I didn't realize how much I missed playing

I loved it and was kind of addicted. Read tons of books and watched every tournament. Gus Hansen and Daniel Negreanu were my favorite players.

Now, I don't even remember the rules of the game. Good times though.

My friends have been slipping Omaha H/L into our rotation and it's killing my buzz. I love normal PLO, but split-pot games are awful unless played super drunk and online.

Thanks for coming into the thread, I wish you many hands with aces & faces.

Let us all know how it goes.

I've been playing here and there for a little less than 2 years and sadly I'm just even. Can't seem to get right, but I feel like I'm getting better at evaluating my play honestly and I think I am getting way better with my timing and reading other players. Had a few spots recently where I called another players hand exactly and my ranges are getting closer.

Might play some 1/3 tomorrow. I'll report back if I do.

Went back a 3rd time and won around $150. Playing tight and getting more comfortable but it has been a blast. I have a couple friends who have been playing as well and 2 of them have busted out every single time lol, one of them is down around $1000 and that's not exactly disposable income for him, has hit some really bad luck. Every single time he gets a big pocket pair he runs up against pocket aces. It's happened 3 or 4 times in the last 2 sessions.... just brutal. The ups and downs of this game are crazy.

Been playing small stakes online too and doing pretty well.

I thinks its way more for show than anything else. His antics are legendary and part of his persona. That's why he's still so famous and still relevant (although I hear he still wins a lot in cash games and tourneys).

But what he did in the last WSOP was pretty fucked up IMO. But that's why they call him the Pokerbrat.

What did he do in the WSOP?

I've got his (old?) book. His game plan is the one for cash games. Tight-aggressive. Sit and wait for cards and get paid off. If you win, you win, if you don't get cards, whelp there's always tomorrow. Don't fight the law of numbers. Probably won't get super rich off it though, least in the long run

Pretty sure gus went broke.

Wish online poker wasn't banned in Australia FFS
