After watching Ortega piece up Moicano, Swanson and Edgar, I was expecting Ortega to have some sort of amazing gameplan against Holloway.
It truly shocked me how much Max made Brian look human in that one sided beating.

I must have been watching a different fight where Max hit him until he rolled onto his back, except he put himself there purposefully as some kind of reverse psychology.

It's worked for him before. It was worth a try given the circumstance. Still not the same as getting dropped.

You have no way of knowing that. It would be one thing if he got brutally knocked out and his head bounced off the mat afterward and then he ate a few followup shots before the ref could intervene. But no, he took a beating in the 4th round without even getting dropped and then the fight was called between rounds. Most likely, he wins his next fight against an opponent not named Max and he looks good doing so.
