Non-MMA Sports Betting Discussion - March, 2018

I also like A&M tonight, Michigan's offense has been non-existent and A&M's defense looks legit. +140 now on Dimes..

Would love to hear other's thoughts as I am not much of a college bball bettor..
My college bball unit size is 1/10th that of my NBA bets but I'm betting A&M for a unit as well

I'm on A&M too. Pick 'em type game so playing the dog makes sense. A&M will need to make some jump shots, but that's really the only question with them. They are big and athletic and guard well. Their front line absolutely clowned Carolina's bigs. Michigan is a more finesse team and I think will have trouble with the size and power of the Aggies frontcourt.

I swore off of basketball after okc made me take a bath live betting Toronto (should have taken into account Westbrook was gonna be the bigger guy inside) but degen gonna degen. Tailing you guys with a&m. Thanks as always for the picks and best of luck on the game!

i think that game was rigged, honestly

I think there's a lot of value on the Nevada/Loyola game but wanting to hear other people's thoughts

Big play is tomorrow night for NCAA.

Duke/Syr u133.5

They played this year already and totaled 106. It's way easier to slow a game down than to speed it up. The Orange are gonna do everything they can to make this yet another unwatchably ugly game like their last game vs MSU.

I'd be surprised if Syracuse gets to 60 in this one (scored 44 vs Duke the first time and by the looks of it their offense has not improved at all). Duke could score 80 and this under would still have a chance to hit. But I don't think Duke will get close to that. For as bad as Syracuse is offensively they are fantastic with their zone defense. They don't give up a ton of open 3's which is impressive when playing exclusively zone defense. And they limit possessions incredibly well, milking the shot clock and always being balanced getting back in transition.

4.4u u133.5

Which way? I lean Nevada

I like Nevada too. Lot of transfers from major programs. They are absolutely more talented than Loyola. Loyola is a solid team that plays good defense and doesn't beat themselves, but I will roll with the more talented group.

I agree but it's a bit dangerous to bet the under in a game with a large spread. If Duke gets out to a 15-20 point lead, the game is going to naturally speed up a lot

Generally I'd agree that's a risk, but I think less so in this case given Syracuse's ineptitude offensively. Duke with a big lead isn't going to look to push the pace as much, and Syracuse doesn't even really know how (and they definitely don't know how to be efficient doing it). They have trailed by close to double digits in all 3 if their tourney wins but still stuck to their "make it ugly" gameplan.

Duke just putting on a complete offensive clinic and scoring well into the 80's is a concern though. Esp if they stop trying on defense late.

Yeah I see the appeal. It's just hard to see Syracuse bleed the time like they want to if their backs are against the walls. And as you said, they dont know how to do it- which means Duke can potentially get a ton of easy points off of turnovers/bad shots/etc. Personally I like live betting college games more than betting them pre-game and this is one where I'd love to bet Duke if they jump out early. I think Syracuse cant face adversity in this situation and the score will snowball if Duke punches them in the face early

The ref gave Dwayne Casey a 2nd technical and threw him out of the game near end and wasn't even looking at him. It was a fan that said something and Kyle Lowry was laughing because it was so ridiculous lmao.

I'm actually considering laying the pts with Duke too. I think this is a rare case where the favorite covers a big spread but the total stays under. Something like 76-52.

refs needed to be escorted out by security after the game LOL

Duke's defense is kinda crap at times. I'd personally maybe feel more comfortable playing their 2H spread after seeing how the first half goes. IDK, as you can tell I have mixed feelings on this game. Duke is one of the two teams I put futures bets on to win the tourney so after all this analysis, ill prob just pass and look to enjoy Duke moving on. But yeah, gun to head, the only bet I'd wanna make is a Duke live bet

Since Duke started playing more zone they've been better. And Syracuse I don't think has the shooters to exploit it.

Lakers/Pelicans,

You guys find the over/under 230.5 high for this game?

Pelicans 3rd night in a row playing. Is the Lakers +2.5 a better bet. I hate betting Lakers because you never know which team shows up but Pelicans said in reports they are tired.
Didn't watch last night's game against the Pacers either.

Or like 60-44 like the first time they played ;) . But I 100% agree and actually think it is the most likely scenario.

Dukes defense is playing much better than the first time they played actually, which just speaks volumes about Syracuses offensive problems.

I'll be on the Lakers tonight out of principle, a little heavier than I was last night in hopes of making some of that money back. Unbiased opinion- the Pelicans definitely did look tired last night and they were down by 6-8 points at one point in the fourth quarter. The Pacers just couldn't stop AD and they made some poor decisions/turnovers late. The Lakers literally have zero answers for AD so that's always a scary proposition, though
