You dont beat max by stayng in the pocket. While ortegas striking has developed a lot, its miles away from maxes, yeah he took him donw and coulnt keep him there ONCE. then he tried like 2 or 3 half asses singles. These guy needs to go train with some real wrestlers, not only train, adopt that that mentality, or demian maia since is way closer to his roots. Is max going to be spamming tds vs ortega? fuck no, then why on earth did ortega fought the very worst way you coul fight vs max. You have 2 choices, you either pressure the shit out of him, or you outstrike him, which ortega by round 2 shoulve realized that was not going to happen.

He beat Moicano like that...oustruck him with aggression in the third and turned him into a panic takedown...

He relies heavily on his ability to punch heavy and move forward.
Holloway can absorb a lot of punishment, but so could Frankie....

Ortega's wins are always like that. He relies on talent and durability.
 
He had a great success when he moved his head in the third. Needs a better striking strategy/coaching

There was no "after the fourth". After the fourth he went to the hospital. Truthfully, he didn't have anything for Max at any point. His best round was 3 and I don't even think the judges gave him that round. They scored all 4 rounds for Holloway.
 
Ortega out strikes guys to where they try and look for a way out and he submits them hes never ben handled like this in the striking his cardio was no where near max and he couldnt keep up he his striking defense and movement was lacking ... He got pieced up and really the fight was over after round 1.. Round 2 max wanted tcity to blow his load and since he took rnd 1 ortega had to anyways to try and win the round.. Round 3 max put the pressure on..

To beat this version of ortega you gotta outstrike him .. Then he had nothing..which max was the first fighter to do it to him.
 
Still enjoy tcity but gotta love max 100 times more he made tcity look like just a good fighter. And max looked 3 levels above him
 
His gameplan is almost always to get it to the ground, Max's TDD was just so good

if you plan is to get the figt to the groun, you dont shoot one td in the whole fight, and hang on half asses singles, well to be honest he probably had more than one, but you need constant pressure, his tds need a shit ton of work.

This, his defensive boxing still has a lots of potential to grow, he could had won in the 3 round if he had more experience, max gave him his back
