Pangburn cancelled it big New York event they had been promoting for months and folds.

Not to surprising once it came out that the main speakers were not going to go the New York event since past speakers hadn't been paid and people hadn't received refunds for events that had been cancelled in the past.

Travis Pangburn lost any goodwill he had built up with his tweet yesterday.

Travis Pangburn could have been successful with having events with people who are famous off podcasts. But his business plan made no sense. No reason to try to have big stadium live events and try to promote them like the are a WWE event.

There really isn't that big of a demand to fill big auditoriums with people paying $500 for an event. It is the exact opposite of the long tail idea of the internet. People who like listening to discussions are perfectly happy to watch them online when they want.

I give him credit for trying to do something different but he wasn't the right guy to pull it off successfully.

Backstory? I have no idea who this guy is.

Pangburn had big events with a number of speakers.

He had events where say Dillahunty spoke with Peterson or Harris spoke with Peterson or Dawkins spoke with Dillahunty or Kraus spoke with Dillahunty or another event Bret Weinstein, Eric Weinstein, Maajid Nawaz and Sam Harris all were on stage together.

Some big internet type guys got together at events around the world and talked.

Travis would introduce them like it was going to be a WWE match or pro-boxing match. He thought he would eventually do pay per view for his events like a boxing or UFC does.

There was going to be a big event in New York where they had a lot of speakers on a few different topics. A few weeks ago some key speakers said they were bailing out. Guys like Harris and Maajid said they were paid for past events but other speakers haven't been paid at past events so they are not going to go to this event. People who paid for events that were canceled were not being reimbursed quickly.

Here Dillahunty and Peterson talk about God and Religion and Peterson doesn't come off looking good imo.

He should have stayed in castle rock
