People born in the 1980’s may never be as rich as their parents

I earned as much in my second year of federal employment as my mom did towards the end of her municipal career. In my third and fourth years, I hit consecutive 6-figure earnings (something neither of my parents got in a single year, let alone consecutive ones, in their entire respective careers).

But the housing market and cost of living is much more expensive than it was in the 80's and 90's, so there's that....

My 34 year old son is making a shitload more than I made at my peak. The opportunities are out there but people have to seize them - he has lots of 6 figure jobs he can't fill.
