  • Josh Copeland (258.4) vs. Jack May (262)
  • Marcos Galvao (145.4) vs. Nazareno Malegarie (145.8)
  • Caio Alencar (243.2) vs. Kelvin Tiller (265.4)
  • Magomed Idrisov (145) vs. Steven Siler (145.2)
  • Alexandre Almeida (145.8) vs. Lee Coville (143.8)
  • Francimar Barroso (240.2) vs. Daniel Gallemore (255.2)

At the weigh-ins today, some heavyweight fighters saw their opponents get switched up due to a rule by the New York State Athletic Commission that opponents in that division must be within 25 pounds of each other.

Alex Nicholson (11-5) was supposed to fight Kelvin Tiller (8-1). But Nicholson was 214.6 pounds at today’s weigh-ins, and Tiller was 265.4. So now, Tiller will fight Caio Alencar (11-2), who was 243.2. And Alencar’s original opponent, Jake Heun (11-6), will fight Nicholson. Heun was 224.

Originally planned heavyweight fights between Jared Rosholt (15-4) and Valdrin Istrefi (12-1), Josh Copeland (16-4) and Jack May (9-3), and Francimar Barroso (19-7) 240.2 and Daniel Gallemore (7-4) all stayed intact.

A fight between Shawn Jordan (19-8) and Philippe Lins (10-3) was scratched from the lineup, though, when Jordan came in well above the 266-pound heavyweight limit. He was 275.2 pounds; Lins was 231, according to a report from Long Island newspaper Newsday.

Shame about Shawn Jordan already messing things up. That guy has really blown up since leaving the UFC.

275 Christ! And he had all the time in the world to make weight. He knew the season was going to start in June....

Is this the official discussion thread?

PFL co-president Carlos Silva told Newsday late last month that if a fight is called off because of someone missing weight, the on-weight fighter still would earn three points for the walkover. (PFL does its regular season based on a point system — three for a win, zero for a loss and one for a draw, with bonus points possible based on what round a fight is stopped in.)

I think that makes sense. Can't fault the fighter who showed up.

So that puts Philippe Lins in the lead with 3 points.

I agree!!

Let’s see what happens with Jordan?

Is he out? Or gets back in the tournament in the losers bracket?

at least the guy who made weight isn't being punished.

What is this silly rule ? Cain wouldn't have been able to fight half of the UFC HW's if this was the rule in place everywhere

Since Shawn Jordan vs. Philippe Lins is off the card, I'm wondering if we'll have a later start time.

Been debating whether or not to get tickets for this.
Thought about the cheapo $5 tickets, but the f’ing service charge was something like $10 per ticket. Da fuq??

The shows intended pacing.
- First 7 fights on Facebook over the course of 2hr45m.
- Last 5 fights on NBC over the course of 2hours.

So that's 12 fights over 4hr45m.

Compare that to UFC who usually does 12 fights a bit over 6 hours.
They might do postlims like bellator does.
