Prime tank v ngannou

Lol- mid tier middleweight s take out "prime" tank.LMAO

Correction, pretty much every male fighter in the current UFC roster kills prime Tank within 3 rounds, as he gasses completely out in 2 minutes... What a stupid thread.

We have this problem with every sport, it's difficult to compare across eras.

If the two of these men fought in their primes Ngannou would murder him. That's not to take anything away from Tank or what he accomplished in the sport, but it's a different ballgame now with an entirely different level of training and athleticism.

Could Tank take his natural punching power and train like a freak and become a legit threat in modern MMA (if he were born at the appropriate time)? Sure. But as it stands, his prime from the 90s versus Ngannou's current prime? No contest, bet the bank that Ngannou will lay him out.

What did Tank accomplish exactly besides having a bar brawler look that made people interested? He never beat anyone of note.

Tank would drink cocktails and take shots at the bar before his fight. Tub of lard was awful

Pretty much.

Tank was prototypical wrestle boxer, Junior College all American with some boxing and hetahd strenght added.

Prototype had many flaws, leaked and consumed too much booze, obviously.

Everyones saying Ngannou but styles make fights.

Ngannou bangs with everyone.

You bang with Tank, you lose.

If Ngannou uses enough skill to take it to round 2, he wins. If Ngannou takes tank down, he could win. But Ngannou doesn't do those things.

Everyone just picking Ngannou by default is showing a rudimentary understanding of the sport.

lol these aren't the tuffman days of the UFC Ngannou is a professional athlete and has a punch equal to a 96 hp Ford Escort going as fast as it can.

Do they still make the escort in USA?

Escort GT was hot in the 90's!

Tank would knock Francis out cold, and Stipe too. Tank would be HW champ in this era if he was like 30, the sport has been pussified beyond belief, Tank is what you call a real man.

Tank got face planted by Kimbo, so no.
That was in 2008. That wasn't prime Tank. Prime Tank was 1995 to 1998. His first few appearances he was fast and in decent shape. He got fatter and slower over time. He also took 5 years off from 1998 to 2003. He was already way past his prime when he came back to fight Mir in 2003.

Not saying Tank would for sure beat Francis. It would be a coin flip HW brawler type fight. Whoever can land first.

But prime Tank is really like 1995 or 1996

Tank gets murked, he's an amateur bar brawler from a UFC era when intent was king over skill.

Scott Ferrozzo would laugh at Ngannou's power and knock him out late.

True, but I had to edit the rest of your post down so that if Tank reads it he won't get gassed because he moves his lips when he reads.

Sims besmirches both of them
