Mamedov/Tavares starts with a near double knockout. Mamedov ends up getting the body lock takedown and rides the entire round out in Tavares' guard, as Tavares avoids damage, but is rendered ineffective. Referee frank trigg strangely stands the fight up with 10 seconds left i nthe round.

Clear rd1 mamedov.

ugh tavares just blew the comeback attempting to pass to mount.

Mamedov with the early takedown as tavares has an arm in guillotine, but can't keep it as mamedov passes to side control. Mamedov takes a top side crucifix and Tavares immediately sweeps him, spending the next 2 minutes on top. Tavares tries to pass to mount, and as he does, Mamedov reverses him, closing out the last 2 minutes on top.

20-18 Mamedov.

Ironically, after Tavares gets swept, Yves Edwarsd says tavares "needs to take a risk." PASSING TO MOUNT WAS THE RISK YOU DUMBASS.

o'connell still in it, but he'll need a finish. spohn clearly outlanded him in rd1 in a fight that stayed on the feet for all 5 minutes.

round starts and o'connell crushes him with some brutal hooks, but spohn survives. o'connell spends the next 3 minutes on top staying active, but not a ton. with a minute left, the ref stands them up. no significant blows landed. spohn shoots a takedown, and o'connell drops for a guillotine. with 1 second left in the fight spohn pops his head out.

could it be a 10-8 o'connell?!?!
