I've been so impressed with the Lace N' Loops; that I've actually been converting all of my velcro gloves to laceup by cutting off the velcro straps and using a hole puncher for the laces to go through.
You can definitely do the same for the Reyes extra padding; but Reyes' leather seem to be among the strongest out there so you'll probably need a heavy duty hole puncher.
That’s not a bad idea at all. I actually have a heavy duty leather hole puncher too...I gained a few pounds some years back and bought one to add holes on my belts!
