I respected that guy, he had a reputation among players as a good person AFAIK.

He did color commentary for the Heat when I first got really into basketball in the early 90s. He had endless insight and he made the game incredibly interesting for even casual viewers; listening to him is a big reason why I'm such a high-level NBA expert/fan today.

Little known fact: Dr. Jack Ramsay served in the Navy during WWII as part of an underwater demolition unit which was the forerunner of today's Navy SEALs.
 
One of those dudes who I can see with supreme confidence has forgotten more about the game of basketball than I will ever know. I loved listening to him and Hubie break shit down.
