So, I've seen a couple of threads mentioning the fact that Ortega tested positive for drostanolone back in 2014. My point here is not exactly him popping, but his reaction. I know this can be categorised as "old news", since, well, his reaction was obviously in 2014 as well, but I think some of you might not have seen it and I believe it's important to see the full picture in order to make a fair judgement.

These were T-City's words:

"In preparation for my UFC debut, I used a banned substance called drostanalone. It was an irresponsible decision that I will regret for the rest of my life. I apologize to my family, friends, fans, the UFC and everyone else who was affected by my selfish actions."

"It should be known that my coaches were totally unaware of my decisions, and I am ashamed that I let down the people who believed in me more than I believed in myself."

No kangaroo meat, no skin cream, no Thai viagra, no tainted supplement excuse. Not only that, he took full responsibility and did not blame anyone else for it. In times of "everyone is on steroids" claims, I can honestly respect that.

tl;dr: Yeah, Ortega did test positive, but unlike many others, he took it like a man: admitted, apologised, and said it would not happen again. I can respect that.

not many fighters come clean and honest like that on mistakes they made
Hespect for that

Still unexcusable, but props to him for owning up to it. Anyone using the tainted supplement excuse just shows weak character x2.

Damn it! He got caught with his hands dirty and admitted!
Wow. I'm shocked.
Give this man a medal.

You are ridiculous people.
A guy should be admired for NOT using, not patted on the back for admitting after being caught,

Yea. That's rare.

Still a cheat, though.

But at least he's not a broke dick cheat.

Who says I don't admire the guys who never used it? All I'm saying is I respect Ortega for dealing with it like a man. Pretty much this:

I would not give props to him for that. He does not deserve a respect for it. All he deserves is not being a denying liar in addition to cheating.

Blackhouse aka Roidhouse. At least he was man enough to own up to it. His team mate Anderson should take note

calm down everyones on it, what matters is how you react when you piss hot, and Ortega took it like a world champ of a man

I thought he was popped for a marijuana metabolite.

Funny how the jesus lovers are the most likely to cheat. what is up with that.

He was fairly young when this happened. I can forgive one time in this case as long as he has been tested thoroughly going forward because of it.

not gonna give him any props for not being an asshole POS. ur supposed to own those kind of mistakes anyways - ur a grown ass man.
