absolutely not true. Naoya Inoue is a huge star in Japan. Horiguchi and Tenshin are just not that well known in Japan so they need to invest in promoting them more.

    Size isn't everything.

Kid Yamamoto vs Masato was #1 on NYE in 2004, with 31.6% rating, beating that red and white singing contest thing.

Even the exhibition "rematch" in 2015 beat rizins rating.

Last weekend was a promotional investment. For more than just those 2. Hopefully it pays off.

This Rizzin' didn't have nearly as much show value as the other ones. Not as many big names or "freakshow" fights.

Should have tried to get some Bellator guys over for Bellator vs Rizzin' again too

Not getting Sapp was a mistake. Looks like they can consistently beat Kyokujin though(they beat them last year right?). If Kyokujin can stay on with their ratings it means Rizin should be safe right?

What is Kyokujin? Is it Karate?

Bellator is virtually unknown in Japan, getting some Bellator fighters on their card would have done nothing unless they got Rampage, Fedor, etc. which they obviously were not going to get.

Sapp was scheduled for 2 other NYE things already, would have asked for way more money than he's worth at this point, and on top of that is going through a domestic violence scandal at the moment. He would have been more trouble than he's worth

Sapp vs Takada would be perfect IMO

Why can't Takada fight anymore? He's only 55 years old and he looks great.

Shamrock vs Takada, Takada vs Rickson Gracie etc are all doable

Vince McMahon became a professional wrestler to win the ratings war...why can't Takeda get in the ring???

If they let 54 year old Kandori fight vs PRIME GABI GARCIA certainly they can let TAKADA fight vs Sapp?

TAKADA can even win via fix like he did in the past, TAKADA vs KEN Shamrock could even be a double fix, the fix to end all fixers!

RIZIN has the normal fight booking down but they have really failed hard with creative freakshows

Speaking of gays, why don't they bring Hard Gay to a RIZIN event and put him against the Cup of Noodles guy?

Holy fuck! I completely forgot about Hard Gay!

Anyways, for rating is there not any Gold medal Judo guys to bring in?

    Pro wrestlers? Sumo guys?

Would help if they had any fights worth watching on the cards.

Fuk off, jmac is old school. I’m a UFC fan, but frankly they have been rolling out the same boring shit for years. Hipsters are mainstream and safe, and they all think the sun shines out of Connor macgregors arse.

Probably because the Japanese have no interest in seeing midgets fight

Exactly; that's why sub 130 pound Japanese boxers do terrible ratings in Japan.

Puroresu is on the up at least so maybe they can convince a few of them to give MMA a shot and get murdered. Unfortunately (for MMA not NJPW) Inoki's gone from NJPW so less will be inclined to give it a shot.
