WWE running a show at the 100,000-seat MCG in Melbourne, Australia, that has been reported about as a possibility for weeks, was reported on as a done deal in today's Melbourne Herald-Sun.

The story didn't list a date, although the planned date is early October, and stated that it would be a pay-per-view and would be expected to draw 100,000 fans. The deal has been negotiated between Visit Victoria, the local tourism board, which would be bringing a major show in as a way to bring tourists to the city.

The story stated that the official announcement of the show would be at WrestleMania on April 8th.

The WWE once drew 55,000 to the smaller Etihad Stadium in 2002 for a three-way main event of The Rock vs. Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar, although locals note that Hulk Hogan's Australia debut was the big draw. Hogan quit WWE just prior to the show.

Etihad Stadium also hosted the 2015 Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm fight that drew 56,214 fans. In local media, Rousey has been reported as the signature star to possibly headline the show. The newspaper also listed John Cena, The Undertaker, and Rey Mysterio as possibilities, the latter two names being interesting.

WWE doesn't have Mysterio under contract but they do have talks with him coming imminently, and as the Royal Rumble showed, even without a full-time deal, he could be used for singular major events since he isn't under contract with anyone else.

The story claimed that both Melbourne and Sydney had wanted Rousey's return.

Cmon buddy, don't clickbait us. It's a WWE PPV, and that doesn't go in the heavies.

they should have pulled the plug after that last ppv.

she just started crying in ring.........literally just crying.

A B-PPV in October expected to match their largest crowd in history? Good luck. They'll claim credit for filling all 100,000 seats regardless.

She already was in the arena she got her ass kicked in for the second time for her WWE ‘debut’
