Which has literally nothing to do with my post, strong reading comprehension. What real world problem has it solved besides paying for drugs in the deep web ? Bitcoin value comes from speculation. Even the Ethereum creator went on a rant the other day for this reason ... blockchain is fairly useless as of now
Actually it has caused problems
1) Gigantic amounts of energy is used to mine bitcoins, once mined, the energy is wasted forever.
2) All the deep web operations (including drugs) turned out to be stings..Tons of people were arrested and the government now has pretty good evidence against millions of people.
3) 30% of bitcoins are lost, This means that people who bought them just lost them
4) Most of the "bitcoin millionares" did not pay their taxes, once they cashed out they left a money trail. They will probably face prison in the future
5) It's a pyramid scheme/Bubble, eventually tons of Baby boomer investors and casual investors will get lose everything while to pay for profit of a few bitcoin millionares
I had bitcoins 7 years ago before all the baby boomers and retail investors got into it.
Back then you had to go to a bank, transfer money to some "Trusted guys" account, and that "Trusted guy" would probably transer the bitcoins to your wallet taking a huge cut for himself.
every few days the "Trusted guy" would ran away with everyone's money and so everyone had to look for a new "Trusted guy"
It's a scam, it's sole purpose back then was to catch people via Drug selling websites setup by the government, It's current day purpose is to be a gigantic pyramid scheme that casuals and boomers (ie, suckers) invest in
