I was trying to explain the difference between statutory rape and another felony that exists in my country but thinking back i guess it came out pretty badly.

Just to be clear though, i wasn't arguing that it wasn't a felony, and Moore´s actions are still a felony that carries prison sentence in my country and most places in the world.

Which are still a felony which carries prison, but i dont think its as serious as rape which i put right next to murder. In the case above for example the teacher would had got 3-5 years if the student or the tutors complained about the teacher, and i would had been doubled to 6-10 because the teacher had a position of authority over the student.

I personally, in no way do i think that minors should be engaging with adults ever from the moral point of view either.

My point (which by now i think ill try to make it as clear as possible) is that humans reach sexual maturity much faster than they would reach mental/societal maturity.

Ill use me as an example.

I hit puberty around 11, by 12 i was already smuggling porn (trying to get a hold of VHS and magazines) started masturbating and trying to see if i could catch a girl showing panties under the skirt at school. A total 12 years old pervert.

Now if me as a 12 years old had been offered to get laid by a young adult, i would had certainly done so of my own free will.

It would had been pretty fucked up because its complete predation, but a 12 years old pubescent boy at the moment would be all for it.

So using the word consent was wrong, because consent implies an informed decision, what i tried to say is that pubescent teens can and want to have sex, and that biological sexual drive can lead to predation through deceit and seduction by an adult.

Which is morally reprehensible and a felony, but in Mexico we dont call that rape, we call it "minors abuse" or "estupro" because rape involves the use of verbal or physical force.

rape is a serious term, for a not so serious "crime"

a friend of mine married his student, I can guarantee he was banging her in high school while he was teaching her..... was really in to younger girls. he's like into his 40's and she into her 30's, what's it matter?

Mary lou laterno or whater her name is, did hard time for sex with that underaged samoan kid. they have kids together and ended up married.... the laws didnt serve their purpose in that case, it just wasted a lot of money and prison sentence, same end result. The crime needs to fit the punishment. In the 70's, much younger women with older men... no one would even blink.

btw, 12 is 7th grade, and while that's pretty young, a small amount of 7th graders are already having sex. We can pretend it doesnt happen, but if it happened when I was growing up, it's happening now. 14-17 years old in the 70's would be near age to get married, and in some parts of the country, that still happens. Over the decades, minors getting married have declined greatly, but in context of the date in question, that stuff was very common.

Estupro is only prosecuted on complaint, when no other crimes are present. By either the tutors or the victim.

Usually since the victims are infatuated they never complain but the parents complaining is enough to trigger legal action.

His wife just made a speech basically saying he has always been a gentleman and these allegations couldn't be true. She went on to attack the media and say that since the Dem is pro abortion, trans rights etc you should vote for molesting Moore regardless.

She made sure to mention trans bathrooms

So all this allegedly happened in Alabama where the age of consent is 16, right? So 3 of the 4 alleged incidents would have been legal. Creepy, but legal.

I was at Ft. Benning GA in the early 90's & would see guys that looked 18 with girls that looked 14. I grew up in the North so it was pretty weird, but apparently legal at the time.
