For people not familiar with the Rubin Report it's hosted by a gay married Jewish guy so it's not right wing.

Brendan O'Neal talks about the left leaving him and the lefts response to Brexit being the possible nail in the coffin.

It's a good conversation with plenty of critique for the right/altright.

Starting at 25min. he goes right into the left being against working class people and the response to Brexit.

Agree with him broadly on antifa although he's not really addressed their history. His views on brexit are particularly myopic though.

In addition to being an obvious fallacy if you are familiar with the Rubin Report you’d know he has moved well to the right after leaving TYT. In fact, that’s more or less his selling point as the only remaining liberal.

He endorsed a guy that wants to privatize roads:

Thinks MLK (who supported affirmative action and reparations) would be a conservative today.

There are many more examples...

It’s not a left wing show imo

He's right...

The new left is as anti liberal as you can possibly get...

True liberals here should be outraged at the left.

It kind of reminds me of Jordan Peterson talking about when he was still left wing and then realized that left-wing professors didn't actually care about the poor, they just hated the rich. A lot of the PC stuff ends up shaming and alienating regular people who don't know and don't care how to play that elitist authoritarian leftist game. This is a large part of why Trump was elected. Former Obama voters basically swung the election in his favor.

Establishment dems and neo-libs promote policy that is counter to the interests of the working class.

They are not "the left", however. At least not the economic left. By fucking definition.

And Dave Ruben is an embarrassing imbecile.

I got 10 minutes in, and had to stop watching. There is a answer here, and it is a electronic bill of rights. The internet as a whole is a public space.

The government recognizing individual rights, is not the use of force against corporations. That is absurd.

When Rubin was with the TYT network a few years ago, he always struck me as the dumbest host that they had on air.

Claiming that he's still any kind of liberal is laughable. All he does is blame the left for all of society's ills.

If you want to see an illustration of what a vacuous fraud he is, watch his interview with David Pakman where he's challenged to actually explain his worldview.

Anyway, on topic. The GOP has been crushing the working class for years. They've destroyed workers' rights with "right-to-work" laws, crushed public and private sector unions and are about to pass a tax reform bill that will actually increase taxes on the working class to fund massive tax cuts for multinational corporations and the wealthy.

Corporatist Democrats are almost as hostile to workers' rights, but they're not actually leftists. They're in the position that moderate Republicans used to be in back when they actually existed.

You can dislike the left for being "too PC," but that has fuck all to do with hurting the working class.

How anybody can spout this shit with a straight face is beyond me.

And?

People wanted an Independant who was pro American industry, and who wasn't total PC, so we could change our world..

Why??

They like the pain...

They like the misery...

They like this world!!

Brexit is is multifaceted but I found his perspective on the lefts response to it insightful. Calling people bigots as a response (slander isn't a argument) emboldened people rather than shaming them into submission as they arrogantly thought would be the outcome. Shaming is the new debate tactic, check out any threde around here ;). The same thing went on during the election (deplorables and baskets full at that :) ) only affirmed what people believed they were up against.

Working class people resent political correctness and being told that they're privileged. This certainly had something to do with so many white working class Obama voters switching over to Trump.

Interesting, you might have a point here. I use that line when people are adverse to listening to anything that might be anti gay or bigoted. Usually when I explain who this Rubin guy is their a little more open minded. I should be more careful around here.
