I live about 45 mins away and have been there about 4-5 times in the 5 years I've been living in California. Bums shit and piss on the sidewalks in front of you. The city should just ticket the people who don't clean up their dog mess. They know where they'll be. It's a city ordnance, after all.

Kind of a tangent but the people who consider themselves "indigenous" to SF are the worst. Same people leaving dog shit all over the place were posting "Tech Bros Get Out" flyers all over the Mission saying that if software workers didn't leave they'd suffer the consequences. I understand why they feel how they do, but they react immaturely and do themselves a disservice. I never even met these people and by default I'm the enemy. Which sucks because I am sympathetic to their problems, but fuck em if they don't want me around.

It's a mixed bag. Imo the city is great but some of the people really suck. The Golden Gate bridge, all of the food along the Embarcadero. Hell, all of the food all over town. Alcatraz. The painted ladies. On and on. It has so many sights and rich history.

The city is worth visiting no doubt. I could do without a lot of the culture though. Some of it is great, and some of it is downright obnoxious. For example, no one is more entitled than a bay area cyclist. It's fucking ridiculous how much responsibility they put in everyone elses hands with their shitty unlawful riding.

It was my biggest irritant when I lived there. They run stop signs, meander in the intersections because they're too important to put their foot on the ground, hop on and off of sidewalks (I used to almost run into cyclists all the time turning into/out of my drive way because they're idiots). And then when they almost crash into you, it's your fault. I can only assume they expect that everyone else will do the work of keeping them alive for them.

That or they think they're super bad ass because it always works out - not realizing it's because everyone else is being evasive.

I have lots of friends who live there. One night were were walking to a bar and a RIVER of piss was flowing from all the homeless urinating in an ally.
