So, Derrick Lewis' back just magically got better?

Or maybe having a hurt back during the NG fight was just an excuse as to why he performed so badly. He didn't want to get hit by Francis. It's that simple. That's why he fought that way. He was concerned with the counters. He knew he was going to fight that way.
Wasn't his fight with Werdum canceled like the day before fight night because of back spasm/issues? What are you talking about?

Back Pain is the number one for insurance scammers and that scrub at your job who always goes sick when the big customer audit is on.
You just can't prove whether it's there or not
I’ve been through workers comp and it’s not as easy as you’re making it sound.
Often an MRI can show damage. Like a herniated disc
And it can show no damage and they’ll have no problem sending your ass back to work.

When pain pills were given out like candy a decade ago, everyone and their mom had a bad back and neck.[/QUOTE]
Since you mentioned back pain and pain pills. BTW this is not directed at you.
Last year I injured an already bad back. Huge herniation at L5 S1. It went from ridiculous levels of pain and
then to numb foot and then trouble pushing off with one foot. I saw nurse practitioner and a neurosurgeon and despite being absolutely miserable for 6 plus months I was not given a single pill outside of one ER visit.
Surgery was recommended. I decided not to have a second surgery. It took a year to heal as good as its going to get.

I think it is sad that a normal law abiding citizen with horrible pain cannot get pain medicine anymore.
It make me mad every time I think about all the losers that have ruined it for regular people.
One more time
Fuck all the scrubs that fucked it up for me and other decent people.
End rant.

You'd be surprised what Popeyes can do for ya.

What we saw in that fight was 2 fighters being tentative of a large explosive opponent.
i agree, but at some point you have to actually-fight. the thing you are being paid to do. it would be like me showing up to a gig and staring at my guitar the entire set syd barrett style instead of playing.

Doctor has told him to lose weight and stretch for years now, he said after the Francis fight he would actually start doing that

So, according to your logic, Francis cannot do anything in the fight until the opponent allows him to?
did you watch that fight? thats exactly what happened lol
He just used Alphabrain, the double blind placebo control study tested natural supplement of the future
well if had double blind placebo testing then at least we know it has more "science" behind it than flu vaccinations do

BINGO! Want Oxy's, just say your back hurts. No one can do anything except believe you and hand out whatever you want. Neck pain is up there too.
this speaks more to the pill pushing philosophy of todays western medicine than anything

Maybe his back is a problem, but he wants a paycheck and can make weight. Signing a contract doesnt mean he will perform any better.

He was definitely shook of that counter.

Luckily for him Stipe already took Ngganou's soul... otherwise he would have been another highlight reel.

Remember prior to the Stipe fight when people on here were actually proclaiming Franc to be the HW GOAT? lmfao

It's easy to question and doubt when you've never had the problem, but it's hell when it's happening to you.

A couple of years ago my back pretty much up and quit on me. It would take me 10 minutes to make my way out of bed in the morning, another hour to straighten out, and then I would not dare sit down all day because if I did I'd need to go through the whole process at once.

Saw a specialist who sent me for every test imaginable. X-Ray, CAT scan, MRI, you name it. Didn't find anything.

I ran my own business at the time, so I certainly wasn't looking for time off, and I didn't take any.

I don't touch painkillers or anti-inflammatories. Doctor tried to push them on me, but I refused.

Through my own research I figured that I was having SI joint pain or Piriformis Syndrome or both.

I started doing a few stretches that I saw online. More importantly, I stopped moving around in the careful way that a person moves when they have back pain and fear throwing their back out completely. This is what causes spasms, and if you don't have a back that is about to give out but have Piriformis, which is essentially a spasm problem to begin with, then walking around like that compounds the issue and prolongs and multiplies it.

This worked for me, but I acknowledge that I self-diagnosed and may not know what in hell I'm talking about. It's also very possible that it was another undiagnosed condition that simply cleared up on its own around the time I started trying to self remedy.

In any case, it was no joke. Just because the doctors can't figure it out doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

His "Back problems" seem to be his go to excuse in his back pocket for poor performance/losing.
Not really, you can literally see him start to stand up completely straight and stop and kind of twisting in the middle of fights

Lewis walked into his corner after round 1 saying nothing but "my back hurts". Sounds like an excuse for me.

A lot of guys compete with broken ribs, foots, etc.

I thought he was going to be out a solid 9 months. As someone who has back problems myself and had surgery it's a slow process to heal a back.
Is the healing on your back going to go quicker or slower if you extra counter weight in the front on your shoulder, chest and stomach area? In fact, I would go so far to say as this physical condition puts unnecessary pressure on the spine often leading to the damage to the spine in and of itself over time.

Just sayin.
