So, I'm bored as hell with SoCal. I'm heading east in a few days, and I need music suggestions. I already have two songs on the list.

EDIT: saw Cowboy Bebop and assumed you liked synthwave/chiptune so removed my vid cause it doesn't sound remotely similar to folk twang like you posted.

Something more similar to your OP..

Mickey Hart - Planet Drum

John Paul Jones - Zooma

Both are great dessert driving albums imo.

Thrilled to see Kyuss and QotSA already posted, Songs for the Deaf would probably be my top choice.

But instead, I'll go with...

The singular definitive one:

I love this record. Pretty neat how Josh and company decided to add radio chatter inbetween the majority of the songs because it makes it feel like you are listening to the radio

This is an obvious one and Ray Manzarek said "A song about driving madly down the LA freeway - either heading into LA or going out on the 405 up to San Francisco. You're a beatnik on the road, like Kerouac and Neal Cassady, barreling down the freeway as fast as you can go."

That Arabian dude apparently tried to kill or did behead his wife. Cant get more authentic than this song.
