Some Aboriginals are calling for a number of statues to be removed. Captain Cook's statue which says he discovered Australia, will now read he explored instead of discovered.
Also a few local councils have voted to ban Australia Day next year! Some are calling for it to be named 'invasion day' instead.

The American media needs to be more responsible about what sort of bullshit they allow themselves to put out to the public, because there are still people out there who think their broadcasting isn't entirely politically motivated. Especially foreigners. These people miss the political context and take the content at face value.

The usual mentality is that if Americans say it's okay, then it must be okay here too. When the mighty U.S. media gets behind a story, it's going to influence all the little foreign news-papers who simply copy their stories and agendas.

the invasion day thing sounds dumb. but so does claiming that cook "discovered" australia. you cant discover a place where millions already live. he did discover it FOR europeans, but its an odd way to word it.

and im sure they dont hate your country. all of this statue shit, no matter where its happening, is just a sign of people being bored and devoid of real problems.
