Still think there is no white privilege?

Actually, it's because society treats them as "black". It's all good until a black young man turns about 14 and starts to look like an adult. Then much of society at large sees them as thugs.

The problem is a lot of young black guys are into “hip hop culture” with saggy pants/attitude.

N in last 30 some years hip hop was pretty much glorifying thug lifestyle.

Now of course ppl shouldn’t be judging each other based on the looks, but unfortunately that’s how it is.

When you see a girl dressed in a skimpy attire, acting like a hood rat, what you 1st think of her?

I don't disagree with any of that, but that has little to do with the Marxist tactic of identity politics and the way they employ "white privilege" as a racist call to hate "whitey" and a socialist lever to get free shit. The oppression hierarchy is just a shit idea at the end of the day and has nothing to do with justice and everything to do with using envy and hate to pursue a wider leftist agenda. As another poster stated "there is no such thing as white privilege, there is only privilege". And what that really boils down to is "life ain't fair". How one gets things is important. A lot of rich kids never succeed because they're given things and they never developed a work ethic. They just coast and fail once they enter any competitive environment (college or real-world). All society can do for the black community is offer opportunity and extend a hand for them to pull themselves up. But they have to pull themselves up. No one can do the work for any individual.

Is it possible for people from a well off background to fail at life? yes I spose but pretty much every metric you can look at shows that its much less likely and social mobility in the US has in general been in decline in recent decades as economic policey has shifted to the right.

If theres a problem with identity politics I would argue its actually moreso that they've become a mask for part of the establishment that is not actually "left wing" at all, someone like Hilary cloaking herself in them and indeed using to to attack a more left wing opponent should be a bit of a giveaway.

I'd imagine this is actually the single biggest issue with racial inequality from the US today, racism still does obviously exist but a bigger issue is simply that minority communities tend to be poorer than white communities in terms of power personal wealth and infrastrucure. This probably does explain why theres been a very significant difference between the economic fortunes of women and those of minorities in recent decades. As sexism was reduced(obviously not eliminated) women found economic prosperity easy to achieve because obviously they came from a cross section of the whole population including more well off communities.

So black men make up 6% of society
Are there other races in there at all?

Just 5.6% of board seats at Fortune 500 companies are held by black men

Dayum. That’s pretty fucking close
Yeah OP isn't the brightest. It's all simple math.

My company would die to hire some black people just for the sake of diversity. But truthfully, they don't even apply. The process is so tough they usually don't even submit once they read the process. As a young kid out of college I worked for Enterprise Rent A Car. Like Will Ferrell said in step Bros.."They give you the tools to succeed" lol. It was a Mgmnt Trainee program and within 3 years I was making 6 figures. Plenty of diversity at the entry levels, none in upper management. Wasn't on purpose, but the first years are brutal and work ethic is paramount. I was vacuuming cars in a suit....some people aren't willing to do that.

Interesting and also great post.

I don't care which family I'm born into as long as they are loving parents that value education the same as mine did and black families I know do

It's not about race it's about value. The only true way to lift people to a better life is education and that starts with the parents and ends with the parents.

Immigrants of all races know education and work is the way o a better life for them and their family's.

I would have answered similar to you as well.

But I'm starting to notice a trend more and more as it pertains to race relations. I think there's an envy issue at the heart of the matter. It reminds me of one my siblings who their whole life, they've always had the attitude that they wanted what they didn't have and everyone else had more. This sibling is the most miserable, awful human . . . I practically know. I hate to say it and God have mercy - may I not have that attitude too. But just some examples, we'd go out to a restaurant occasionally growing up or in my early twenties when I spent some time with the sibling, and that sibling would literally look to what everyone else ordered and ask to sample/pick food off of other's plates even before trying what they ordered for themselves. I noticed this as a young adult and was able to remember this older sibling growing up, that they were always, always comparing every single job they were given to what everyone else was given - instead of just doing what they were told and not worrying about what others had and how it compared to their responsibilies and privileges. That sibling has been through many, many relationships and just manipulates and then runs into the ground whoever they're with -ruining them eventually. It's systemic envy and greed as I see it. Lack of discipline is also part of the problem, but that person growing up had a victim/SJW mentality I can see now and actually fought my dad tooth and nail whenever he'd try to correct it.

I'm wondering if some of this attitude is in the rap culture: envy and greed. And as others have said, I think lack of a father figure and two parents is huge as well.

They take on people of color first in almost every civil, service job. They get boosted scores and jump all lists...I scored near perfect scores on cop tests years ago and it was years before I got called (by then I said fuck it). What they make of it is up to them after that. I know I have priveledge being white. I also know my kids won't get financial help or get put to the front of any lists for college. Life is about creating opportunities through hard work and taking advantage of every advantage you have...and being a minority has plenty.

I’m white, and I’ll never be a CEO of a fortune 1000 company.

I also have degrees in accounting and won’t be a CFO of a publically traded company.

What does this useless stat mean? Nothing. Are there road blocks for becoming a CEO? Are any of them race related? Oh right, the answer is no.

Trust me, I've had a few troubles in job searches in the past due to being white. I know exactly what you're talking about.

I asked about opportunity alone, which average family statistically has more opportunity, black or white? Is there a reason you don't want to answer this?

Yes the statists back that up, the question is why.

If black immigrants can do well then the problem may be something else.

Out of the fortune 500 companies guess how many black CEO's there are?

30?
20?
15?
10?
5?

ALL would wrong answers. With Kenneth Chenault, the longtime chief executive of American Express retiring early next year there will be a total of 3 black CEO's.

I know some of you don't really math so that is 3/500 which is 0.60%... LESS than 1%.

"The lack of diversity in corporate America extends to the boardroom: Just 5.6% of board seats at Fortune 500 companies are held by black men, and just 2.2% held by black women, according to the Executive Leadership Council, which promotes diversity in corporate America"

So I'm curious white privilege deniers, what do you attribute this to? Maybe black people just aren't smart enough? Maybe they aren't working hard enough? What are your thoughts?

http://money.cnn.com/2017/10/19/news/companies/black-ceos-fortune-500/index.html

They work for it.

White privilege is a total myth. More whites are now dying from drug abuse than other ethnic groups.

Oh yeah, the whites in Europe let them self get destroyed too: Frankfurt Germany has less Germans in it then foreigners.

When a child tells me "There is a monster under my bed", I don't try to explain the finer points of how that is untrue. I simply say "Oh well I put a magic barrier around your bed so you're safe now"... because what is the point of reasoning something to someone with no reason?
thats actually an amazing analogy. just tell people that want to believe in a white supremacy holding them down that youll take care of the bad guys.
Just out of curiosity, if you were half black and half white, and you were filling out a job or college application, what would you put for race?

And which do you think would give you a better chance of being hired/accepted just based on that one check box?
This point will go over his head.

I am half hispanic half white...of course I put hispanic down. Shit only helps me.

Have parents that stay together huh? Do you know how stupid that sounds? Was I supposed to convince my dad to stay at 2 years old when he left my mom? Was it my fault he left and my mom couldn't afford to put me through college? I made it on my own and am well off now but what could I have done about my situation?
You know how stupid it sounds not to understand that if your parents had of stayed together that you probably would have been better off. Of course there is nothing you could have done about it but it would have been a huge financial boost to you had they stayed together.

Black people make up 13.3% of the population yet 0.60% are CEOs of fortune 500 companies.

I'll tell you one thing. That stat won't get better if blacks continue to follow and vote democrat 90+% of the time. White Democrats are falling into a dangerous trap of socialism filled with neo-marxist rhetoric. Spouting anti-capitalist drivel won't get your MBA ass hired as CEOs of fortune 500 companies. The best bet if you want to remain DNC and get fortune 500 CEO status is to go into STEM and build up the company yourself.

You mean the people who creates the systems that are America. The majority? Privilege, what does it mean?

Shelby Steele calling for the end of white guilt:

"We have to focus on fairness. Fairness is our only way out of this. There is no redemption. America's history is what America's history was. Its left the scars its left. Public policy is never going to be effective in terms of remediating or redeeming us in anyway. We need to go back to simple fairness always without regard to what group you may belong to."

I'm not saying it's not hard to be a minority. But it is way less hard to be a minority in a western country.

For our marxist utopia to work we need to pass new laws. WE MUST ENFORCE DIVERSITY THROUGHOUT ALL POSITIONS OF POWER!!

Every group must be accounted for, including at least 1 of each of the 397 genders.

It's 2017 and America still hasn't had a trans-president. Racism and discrimination is real. What more proof do you need...
