Strenght vs. Technique

I think you’re trying to make an argument where there isn’t one that matters. To oversimplify my point, I believe everyone should be as fit as they can be. Period. That’s all man. If you don’t feel that way, no problem

I agree with this. I think anyone who trains long term and wants to get good at jiu jitsu beyond blue, if they haven't made black belt yet, end up taking there conditioning and fitness level seriously.

You don't necessarily have to become a weight lifting/running buff, but they need 3 things to happen with or without having to workout:

1) Maintain a normal weight range for their size
2) Have good cardio to roll a lot
3) Be strong enough to roll

The only guys from my experience who can get away with being 'fat' are tall chubby guys.
