Taekwondo U.S. Open

I'm trying to find history of its results but can't find anything. I would think they'd have records for such a tournament. I'm assuming that this a high level tournament.

Elite guys - no. And why should they when the Olympics exists.

National championships were the qualifying for the Olympic team back in my day, but that was when TKD was just being elevated to Olympic status. Open Championships were a hodge podge of unsanctioned semi contact federations that usually got smoked at the state and national championship level.

Back in the day you trained for state Bronze, Silver or Gold that qualified you for the National Championships at the Colorado Springs Team USA training center and the Olympic team were selected from the top medal winners.

Elite guys - no. And why should they when the Olympics exists.

No money, and no respect. Its like olympic boxing. Everyone will think you are soft if you do olympic TKD.
