Taking PEDs to avoid a disadvantage is the reason PEDs should be banned

How many fighters are taking PEDs only because "everybody is on steroids" hence they want to avoid the disadvantage of being clean? It's like weight cutting.

The message is that you HAVE to use steroids if you want to be a fighter. Why should a fighter have to play with his health, endocrine system, take estrogen blockers, have a shriveled up penis, get bitch tits, etc., just because his opponent wants to be this reckless?

USADA needs to be ramped up to expose and ban these fake fighters.

First offense = 2 year ban.

Second offense = get another job.

To be at the top level of any sport
You have to take illegal shit

Period

The reason PEDs are banned is because Americans worship the illusion of the American dream, where hard work is all you need to get to the top and taking the shortest path/steroids are considered morally wrong

No. PEDs are banned because if/when they are not, especially in a big money sport, the competition rapidly turns into an extremely dangerous pharmaceutical arms race.

See professional body building.

Bans do not eliminate PED use. But they do slow it down substantially. A world where everyone takes whatever s/he likes is a world of liver failure, psychotic breaks, and early death.

You really want guys showing up on fight night on PCP?

All sports are riddled with PEDs.

The belief in "clean athletes" is childish.

Yeah, exactly. I've said before that it makes perfect sense that guys who are on PEDs can be very anti-PED and want PEDs out of the sport. I'm sure many athletes don't want to take PEDs but can't be competitive if they don't.

In real life, people get to use steroids. At will at that, relatively speaking.

Even curling, table tennis, billiards, pro fishing, fox hunting and dressage?

To be a professional
Aka getting paid money to do something
People will use any advantage they can get, you know this so don't try and be a smart ass

No, PEDs are banned to (try and) protect the clean athletes

(However few of those athletes there may be. History is littered with athletes who never made it because they werent prepared to dope. That is who anti doping try to protect)

Two sides of the same coin.

They are there to protect athletes from needing to make the choice between risking their health or competing on a level playing field.

No one is ever going to ban red meat because some dude wants to be a vegan. That's his choice.

They ban substances that force athletes into a health versus career sort of dilemma.
