Looks like this bullshit has finally made its way to Canada, spearheaded by elementary school teachers. Sir John A. MacDonald was Canada's first prime minister, playing a pivotal role in forming the Canadian Confederation in 1867, transforming Canada from a British Colony to an independent state. Tons of places are named after him, but now these SJWs want his name removed because he was oppressive towards natives. It's like calling for removal of anything involving George Washington.

Imagine what these crybabies are teaching your young kids, grooming them to be SJW snowflakes.

As U.S. legislators mull the removal of statues seen by many as painful reminders of the darker moments in American history, a similar debate is playing out in Ontario over whether public schools should bear the names of Canadian figures associated with this country's legacy around the treatment of Indigenous communities.

That debate hit the floor of a meeting by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario days ago, ending with a resolution to urge school boards across the province to consider removing the name of Canada's first prime minister — Sir John A. Macdonald — from public schools.

Widely lauded as the father of Confederation, Macdonald is credited with having joined the eastern and western parts of Canada together through the creation of a transcontinental railway.

Pareja says he acknowledges Macdonald's foundational role in the country's Confederation, but that having public schools bearing his name leaves out his role in the starvation of Indigenous people along the railway to facilitate its construction — along with Macdonald's "central role as the architect of, really, what was genocide of Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island."

Surprised this didn't happen sooner for Canada. Has Trudeau gotten down on his knees for Natives yet?

Liberalism is like a plague of locusts and it can rapidly travel from place to place leaving behind a wake of politically correct destruction.

I guess George Washington Bridge, worlds busiest bridge, is next. It will be called Reggie Jackson Bridge.

Canada's history curriculum consists of mainly teaching students how evil the people who founded Canada are. Canadians are taught to be ashamed of our history. The motion to remove the name John A. MacDonald is hardly surprising.

He campaigned on it, then they found out he was full of shit and he's pretty much exposed himself as being a pandering, virtue signaling piece of shit. They don't like him.

Ah yes, natives, Canadas perpetual victims. Is normal. Was guessing Toronto before clicking.

John A Macdonald is literally THE reason why Canada exists as it is today. He fought his ass off to have the CPR completed tying Canada from East coast to west, preventing the Americans from taking British Columbia.

And he drank like 15 glasses of gin during the most important parliamentary speech in Canadian history. He switched to Gin because in looked like water, and the Brandy he drank was too obvious. Dude was a serious alcoholic.

SJWs in Canada have been pushing for this kind of stuff for a while. You just know that they've been seething with envy this past week at what's been going on in the States. The ETFO is at this point a radical leftist organization whose goal is to indoctrinate young minds into their cult-like ideology.

Also, isn't it shocking that the CBC article doesn't have a comments section. Would never have imagined that.

He's also on Canada's ten dollar bill.

Eventually they're going to want to rewrite the history books, if this doesn't get nipped in the bud right away.

Found @KONE's alt. I wonder how long this hateful cunt will last this time.

They'll be burning books by the end of the year.

Boom. And there it is. Listen up Lolberals, this is why you get so much push back from the Right on Confederate Statues. Because after you get that, you'll go after anyone who owned slaves, then after anyone who fought against the Natives. Because you people never, ever stop with your bullshit.

Because in the end it's truly never about the issues being fought over, it's about the fight, the next hurdle, the next social mountain to climb. When you're whole ideology is wrapped around tearing down the system and fighting against human nature in order to make everything a nice smooth sanitary homogeneous gloop of a society there is no end to the struggle. All your virtues and resources are wrapped up in the struggle itself and your leaders only maintain power and the attention of masses by directing that need toward the next outrage in need of "fixing".

That is 100%, exactly it. They don't care about the issue by any stretch of the imagination. They care about being outraged.
