How is this "gotcha"? Is holding politicians accountable in terms of their beliefs and their fundraising always gotcha? Shouldn't exposing incompetence and corruption be an "agenda" that we all support?

The politicians who pretend to care are not doing anything more than the ones who are honest and basically saying they do not care what happens to the planet. People are going to have to do more than rely on politicians if they want to see environmental change. That means living a lifestyle of sacrifice, restraint, simplicity and self-reliance which is a lifestyle most people are unwilling to live. The farthest most people will go it seems is moral outrage at so-called climate change deniers and a tax passed because climate change.

How can you make serious change when we live in a capitalist system that promotes and encourages a mentality of hedonism, consumerism, indulgence, greed, unlimited wealth, rampant individualism and selfish competition. The very things that lead to the destroy the planet.

When she gets through college, gets a job, has been married for a few years, raises a few kids, experiences loss and has come to some difficult realizations due to the hardship of life then we can talk about her maybe knowing something. you dont need life experience to be concerned about proven science. That was a whole lot of words for you to write to essentially say nothing. For the most part, this can be true...except a guy like Isaac Newton made breakthroughs in calculus and the law of gravity at age 23. Experience is important, but age isnt always an indicator of rationale or intelligence.

The earth is currently in a warm-up, which has jappened on the past without humans, and likely was necessary to stop the next ice age anyway.

Shoreline property, no matter what we do ourselves, is not a great long term investment, because the coastlines change; look at a map estimation from 5 million years ago.

We may be destined to burn through most of our fossil fuels, but hopefully not. Hopefully we can get a cleaner energy solution without big money getting in the way, because pollution is bad and unhealthy. That's right, "pollution." Notice how they replaced that word with "climate change" and people don't use it anymore? That's because "pollution" is always bad, there isn't any debate about it.

People have been living in Crete, on the coastlines, for thousands of years. Other places too. Look at all the people living on relatively small islands.

Earth has warmed up, sure, but that doesn't mean that there is no issue with humans warming the earth up. It's flawed logic. People have died for hundreds of thousands of years so what's the problem with killing a few million?

Using the past a prediction for the future can be useful, certainly geological cycles, but trying to apply this to a situation which has never happened before (civilization causing global warming/drastic climate change) is not very helpful.
