I think the 1980s and the 1990s were the last remnants of a non-declining western civilization. Everyone pretty much knows that it's slowly downhill for Europe and America from here on out. Asia is the future. America is old and stale now. I visited some rapidly growing Asian countries (ie -- not Japan) last year and it had the same optimism that the American 1990s had. Can't wait to go back.
