The All-Purpose Rugby Thread (League and Union): Champions Cup Semi-Finals on Today

Wow that was like a shark with a seal pup lol.

Poor Italy got figured out and dismantled again, I have to give them credit they come out every time positively but when they are not on the ball they are just getting broken down and run past.

Ireland Wales was pretty much what I expected. England are coming for the double grand slam no doubt about it.

Come on Manly Sea Eagle don't hate and give England credit they are playing excellent rugby at the moment and every match is exciting and dynamic. They 100% deserve to be where they are.

They started ugly against France and were lucky against Wales just wanted to see more off an even contest as Scotlands back play and under the ball stuff has been very exciting.

Read earlier that Stade Francais and Racing 92 are going to merge into one club, sounds weird as fuck...two cross city rivals, the last two winners of the competition.

Try for Ireland. Need to keep in touch with them here.

Congrats to Ireland. We didn't really deserve the record.

Good stuff, shame it wasn't the decider though. But still good to beat England and stop them getting the record/grand slam. Congrats to them for winning the championship though, Wales and Scotland games cost us.

Ireland the dream killers strike again. England's victory is diminished although still impressive.

Go to see the luck of the Irish winning yesterday in the Champions Cup might even het an all Ireland final.

Not much chat about the Lions tour so far...

That was a much better performance against the Crusaders, still wasn't great, but compared to the first two games there are positive signs. Pretty boring game on the whole, but it's a good sign that we were able to keep the top Super Rugby side scoreless. Though equally it's a bad sign that we couldn't score against a club side, however good they are...there were a few times were they butchered try opportunities through shoddy passes, but still, it's always tricky to get the right combinations and find cohesion when you get players coming from different sides coming together like this, and there were signs of improvement. That's the point of the warm-up games after all.

Farrell is surely the starting ten now for the test games though (though Sexton player better when he came on), good kicking and did a great job taking the ball flat to the line and making the right pass. Murray also looks very good despite a few mistakes, he was equally important imo and that 9/10 combination worked very well. Seán O'Brien looks like he's finally starting to get back his pre-injury form, made a few bruising runs...though he did go off quite early. Te'o had an iffy sort of game, made a few mistakes but he was one of the only effective players we had at getting over the gain line and beating players. Liam Williams was shit, but part of it might have been the service he was getting.

Really good sign for the Lions headed towards the tests. They even looked good in defending in the loose in disorganized space, which will be the key to stopping the ABs from getting too many tries to overcome.

I find it way too enjoyable to see northern hemisphere boring rugby sucking the dynamism out of a NZ super rugby side...

Bad loss in the Highlanders game, far better match than the Crusaders one in terms of pure entertainment but Lions players aren't used to playing at that pace. Really looking forward to the Maori All Blacks game tomorrow, really strong side they've got.

All Blacks first warm-up against Samoa was today, just saw the tries but they expectedly dominated the match. Always love the Haka vs other pacific war dances -

Feel this one needs to be a strong performance. C'mon lads.
