Daggerfall Unity 1.0 release coming soon.

Download PreAlpha 0.7.65:

Road Map:

Daggerfall is the biggest RPG ever made and probably the most ambitious Bethesda project back in 1996. The scale of the game is the size of Great Britain, game world features over 15,000 towns, cities, villages, and dungeons for the player's character to explore, 750,000+ non-player characters (NPCs) for the player to interact with.

Thought this project was dead. Looks great.

Hope they fix all the broken and half implemented stuff.

These kind of mod projects seem to always look awesome, but never get to the finish line. The amount of work is incredible. Best of luck to them. Hope they get there.

In the middle of another playthrough ATM. It's not pretty like that though lol I'm playing on dosbox.

Lvl 6 just found my first mithril weapon.

@Summoning

Isn't there so many towns and characters because they're all procedurally generated and pretty damn similar so not much variety in the game world?

Main cities and main quest Dungeons are handcrafted.

Looks like Warcraft had a baby with Minecraft

I'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully it gets finished.

Blackmesa, the recreation of Half-life 1 using the Source engine has been a work in progress for 14 years. It’s in Duke Nukem Forever territory now.

Actually, just for the sake of this post I thought Id revisit the Black Mesa page and see what the devs are saying. The screenshots are pretty impressive, and they actually are saying that Q2 2019 is the release date and theyre assuring that it wont slip. heh, be pretty cool if it happens.

They’re probably trying to make sure they don’t go past DNF’s 14 year development timeline.

It has now passed Duke Nukem Forever as of this month for length of development

I can't believe there are still people playing that game. That's awesome. I played the ever-livin' daylights out of it even though it needed multiple patches after it was released just to get to the end. I don't know if I still have the CD or not.

Eh. It originally started as a couple of dudes doing it on their own time on their own computers. Not sure the comparison is warranted. They havent actually been a "studio" making any money off of it except for the last 4 or 5 years.

It’s not a fair comparison, just a funny one.
