Would be cool if they did an MGS2 bait and switch, and heavily promoted the game with Ellie as the main character, only to have her get captured or killed in the first hour of the game, and then you play as Joel for the rest of it.

MGS2 rustled a lot of jimmies, but I believe raiden was a better character than snake, IF they didn’t do that cyber ninja crap to him

This game is going to immediately get 5 out 5 stars from every reviewer on the planet JUST because they are so super "edgy" and have a lesbo main character.

Just like Black Panther got all these stellar reviews because of a predominately black cast. It was a average Marvel movie at best. I liked Blade and Spawn better.

I think the gameplay looks stellar and the story will be great. But no one will see the forest for the trees as obviously this thread was hijacked by SJW arguments instead of the merits of the mechanics

As @Jackie Blue stated you are part of that problem. The fact that you bothered mentioning it means you are one of the people that thinks that people think its edgy to have a main lesbo character.

The majority of us don't give a shit. It's Ellie from the Last of Us. We've known for a looooong time that she's a lesbo. All we cared about is that we get a good story and they improve the game (gamplay and graphics). The graphics and gamplay look superb (took my vote as most beautiful gameplay of E3). Won't know about the story till we play it but it's a can't miss game.

Posting on Twitter, Eidos Montreal studio head David Anfossi slammed The Last of Us' cinematic animations as being "fake" in a now-deleted tweet shared by Naughty Dog animator Jonathan Cooper. The apparent comment came after one gamer said The Last of Us Part 2 was at the "top of the animation game" with its graphics.

With the comments seemingly coming out of the blue and not being very sportsmanlike, the backlash against Anfossi was almost immediate. Fans jumped to the defense of Naughty Dog's game and called Anfossi out for his unnecessary outburst. Seeing the error of his ways, Anfossi followed up with an apology tweet for what he had said was "bad wording."

I think the natural direction it might be headed, is to have Joel become a villain and Ellie being forced to put him down. The ending of TLOU kind of painted Joel in a bad light, morally speaking(although it's complicated, which made the ending so brilliant), and I think they might take the next step in his downward spiral with this game.

hmmm I was thinking how could Joel be made a bad guy? You mean he allowed that camp to be taken over and the people killed to save Ellie again?.. is that the angle?

then again there was another vid of Joel asking what Ellie wanted to do and she said she was going to fuckin kill all of them.

there is one thing that got me thinking:

afaik we never got a definitive answer whether Ellie is able to infect other people or not and she is just carrying the infection. There is the part where she tells David "Im infected! and so are you now" after she bites him but neither we or Ellie really know if it's true or not, at that moment she just said it to freak him out and get a chance to escape.

Then there is the part in the University with the "infected" monkeys. They are very similar to Ellie to that effect that they carry the virus but don't get changed by it. However from one of the audiologs we know that they can spread the infection, because one of the scientists got freaked out when he got bitten by a monkey.

And then very early in the game you can find a note that says that the infection gets spread either by spores or by bodily fluids of the infected.

So what I'm getting at is: do you think that Ellie maybe accidently infected her girlfriend by kissing her?

I remember in the first game, ND were adamant you wouldnt play as Ellie, 100%, guess what happened? Lol.

I think we're definitely gonn play as Joel for some portion of the game. I also think we'll play as that jacked lady in the first trailer, presumably Ellie's mother?

I wanna know how she's so jacked when there is clearly no regular food supply, presumably she wont be getting too much protein, and how where she lifts, when one would assume she's constantly moving from place to place. And were she's getting her supply of roids...

Is it really confirmed man? i honestly havent followed news on this, only the very first trailer where ellie is playing the guitar and what we saw in E3

I know game will be great but im honestly a little bummed that Joel is not the main character.
