U.S. Plans to Pay Mexico to Deport Unauthorized Immigrants There

"WASHINGTON — President Trump has promised for years that Mexico would pay for a vast border wall, a demand that country has steadfastly refused. Now, in the Trump administration’s campaign to stop illegal immigration, the United States plans instead to pay Mexico.

In a recent notice sent to Congress, the administration said it intended to take $20 million in foreign assistance funds and use it to help Mexico pay plane and bus fare to deport as many as 17,000 people who are in that country illegally.

Immigrant advocacy groups called the deportation aid for Mexico a misguided and wasteful use of money that would fail to address the problems prompting migrants to travel to Mexico and the United States in the first place.

We shouldn’t be paying another country to do our dirty work; we should actually be fixing our immigration system and helping these countries get back on solid footing,” said Ali Noorani, the executive director of the National Immigration Forum. “It smacks of desperation.”

Lmao imagine how many ppl we could help deport if we used shitposter-in-chief's golf money ($70M give or take)? We'd be deporting left and right, like a boss, supersonic speeds, boom, all problems solved.

I don't really understand how else we can send these people back. If we just leave them across the Mexican border then they will just walk right over again.

We need a wall to keep them from getting through in the first place.

And no fucks given by any Trump supporter.

Cuck level: Melania being briefly fondled by an intern in the Rose Garden.

Even for the wall, wouldn't it make more sense for us to pay Mexico to build one on their side? More people have been going the other way for the past decade, and it would probably be more cost-effective.

I dont see what this has to do with the wall, but its probably a good idea. Much cheaper than allowing these people into our country (which is where they're headed anyways).

The idea of Trump's wall keeping Mexicans in is so funny I almost want him to build it now

Thats actually a pretty great idea. Should a lot less area to cover on the southern end of Mexico

And in TS scenario it will be just the same, except Mexico at that point will have intere$t in illegal$ invading your country in greater number lol

I understand you added the wall thing, but the wall as we speak is fantasy as the first 3 GoT seasons combined

A more humane approach may be to work with these countries to restore the economies we ruined thus stemming the migrations, which almost always are undertaken by people in desperate conditions.

Oh boy. Which economies are we responsible for?

I don't have any problems here. Many migrants aren't from Mexico; they come from central America through Mexico. It's fine to turn over central Americans to Mexico and offer financial assistance for Mexico to ship them further south to their countries of origin.

Its probably more expensive for us to fly them straight from the US to their countries of origin. And just dumping them off on Mexico allows them quick entry back in and pushes Mexico from being a better ally on this.

Central America and the Caribbean has been fucked beyond recognition by the US several times over, add the Cold War and Cuban influence and one has to wonder why that region isnt even more fucked up than it already is.

But ending the war on drugs would probably help curb the ultraviolence of central American gangs.

Si, si.... Bueno.
