International The U.K wants to ban Donald Trump for saying they're trying to disguise their massive Muslim problem

Donald Trump's statements about what's happening in the U.K and Germany is...

  • Absolutely true!

  • Completely false!

Andrew Percy, the Tory MP for Brigg and Goole, said the 'pointless' debate was 'utterly ridiculous' and was 'wasting taxpayers' money'.

Back in the debate, Philip Davies, a Conservative backbencher, says that Trump has been waging a war against political correctness.

Davies says he too campaigns against political correctness. And, as a Yorkshireman, he believes in blunt talking.

He says all MPs here will have constituents who disagree with Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims.

Davies says he disagrees with Trump’s idea but people are entitled to express their views. An opinion poll showed that 24% of people in Britain supported this idea. And, in the north, the figure was 35%.

He says MPs who speak up for minorities are reluctant to support the right of these 24% to express their views.

Davies says people are fed up with politicians not saying what they think. He says we should celebrate politicians who are willing to say things that are unpopular.

Tory MP Adam Holloway called earlier for Britain to apologise to the US for holding the debate in the first place.

"This motion is actually embarrassing to the UK and makes us look intolerant and totalitarian. I feel we should almost apologise to the people of the United States. It is for them to decide on Mr Trump’s views, not us."

Ex-chief prosecutor says Trump's views aren't violent enough to ban him

Labour MP and former Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer warns anti-Muslim hate crime is on the up - partly as a response to the Paris attacks.

He says he wants to “send a message to the Muslim community about how much we value them” and Trump’s comments are “repugnant” and “so offensive to that whole community”.

He says British Home Secretaries’ ability to ban people “is a power that should be applied equally to everybody, whatever their wealth and power.”

But he says the “touchstone” of banning people has always been “an element of disorder or violence” and Trump’s views in themselves aren’t enough to provoke that.

Starmer says MPs are united in condemning what Trump said.

He says hate crime is going up. The number of crimes involving religious hatred has doubled in the last three years.

The increases are not uniform, he says. Incidence of hate crimes goes up after specific incidents, he says.

He says Trump is arguing that Muslims should be banned because he thinks they are all a threat.

That is not buffoonery. That is absolutely repugnant.

Kwazi Kwarteng, the Conservative MP, intervenes. He says he does not think Starmer is representing Trump’s views fairly. Kwarteng says he is not supporting Trump’s views at all. But surely Trump was saying that all Muslims should be banned because some might pose a threat, not because all pose a threat, he says.

Starmer says Trump’s comments “edge towards treating a whole community as a suspect community”.

Starmer says in 2005 new guidelines were set out explained what “unacceptable behaviour” could lead to the Home Office deciding that someone’s presence in the UK would not be conducive to the public good. They covered four behaviours; fomenting terrorism, provoking other acts of terrorism, fomenting other serious criminal acts and fostering hatred that might lead to community violence.

He says Trump’s comments were offensive, shocking and disturbing.

But he says he does not think that they pass the test to justify banning him.

On the news earlier, they said 'some groups are saying Trump should be banned from the UK and treated like any other hate preacher'.

Hate preachers are not banned from the UK, though. So let him in.

Tory immigration minister James Brokenshire closes the debate, but refuses to comment.

He condemns Trump’s views, saying they stereotype Muslims and ignore the fact more Muslims die in terror attacks than any other religion.

He says the test is whether Trump’s presence in the UK would be “conducive to the public good”.

But despite the three-hour debate and 500,000-strong petition he REFUSES to say whether Donald Trump is being considered for a ban or not.

Closing the debate Home Office minister James Brokenshire refused to say if the department was considering banning Mr Trump.

He said Theresa May had banned fascists, jihadis and hate preachers who posed a risk the UK -more than any other Home Secretary.

He said: ‘She will continue to use exclusion powers against who seek to do us harm.

‘The Government has a long standing policy of not routinely commenting on those who are being considered for exclusion – for sound legal reasons.

But he added: ‘The US remains our most important bilateral partner. It is in the UK’s interest that we engage with all presidential candidates – Democrat and Republican – even though we may disagree profoundly on important issues.

‘Where there are clear differences of opinion with our American partners, the most effective way to deal with that is a frank and open exchange of views, taking on those arguments. Today’s debate has provided a platform to do just that.’

It’s pretty clear however that Trump won’t be banned, especially since such a ban is explicitly rejected by David Cameron and Jeremy Corbyn.

Paul Flynn
, the Labour MP who opened the debate, is now wrapping up. He says people have seen parliament at its very best. And they have seen the diversity of parliament too.

He says he hopes this debate will enhance our relationship with our great ally, the US.

Lol is this fucking bizarro world? The parliament of a country that used to be the most powerful in the world is now wasting its time debating on whether or not to ban Donald fucking Trump from entering because he said some things that make him sound like a big fat meanie poopyhead?

Jesus H. Christ...

Nailed it. The English of the last few thousand years would be ashamed of what their country has become.

and why is there only two choices to this poll? Nothing is either absolutely true or absolutely false, especially if it comes from The Donald.

I don't want Trump to win, but if it results in all the SJWs moving to Canada and all the sane Germans and Brits moving here to fill their spaces, that would indeed make America great again

It would cause Canada to collapse and we would need international aid programs.

Conquered by international banksters

I like how Ted Cruz got name-dropped out of nowhere in the middle of this circus.

I bet he's rewatching the video of the "debate" now just for that part.

What else did he say beside the tweets? If that's it, man the world is in trouble. Have to be able to say what you think is the truth, especially when it's pretty much the truth.

Its amazing what once a great nation has become. You guys were once the envy of the world. And now you want to elect a reality tv stars as your president.A man who knows nothing about polits or how to conduct himself with class, a man who spends hours on twitter everyday attack anyone who says anything negative about. This is the man you think should be the leader of the free world. You really have become a joke.

Liberalism. Liberalism killed it

The international bankers (and gangle of friends) use their monetary leverage to reengineer societies to their advantage. The mass migration, diversification and cultural Marxism is designed to create a society more easily dominated and controlled by a small number of people. It's largely about eliminating competition.

When your opponent is wrong, you enjoy it and hope he keep say as much bullshit as possible that you will use against him

When he's right you cry and scream "shut up!"

It's a petition that means they have t debate it they aren't actually going to do fuck all. The US has a similar thing with the White House Petition.

As shitty as the UK has become this is nothing.

The US government doesn't have an open debate about the 'We The People' petitions, the White House just writes a response to the petition that pretty much just says that they read it. It is just an easy way to generate good press (The White House said they think the Death Star idea is funny! They really listen guys!)

The UK actually spending most of a day in Parliament debating this nonsense makes it look like a joke.

I don't know about you guys, but watching this circus unfolds taught me a lot about the lay of the land in the UK parliament.

If you knew nothing about British politics and wants to know who's still sane and who are beyond help, this "debate" is the ultimate crash course!

Here's the link again for those who missed out on the live feed:
