This thread may have been made Lewis vs DC odds

Roads55 is correct. You would win $35 on DC and lose your $250 on Lewis. Google "Parlay Calculator" and you will get many websites where the math is done for you. Just type in the odds and bet amount. The easiest way to figure it out is that you need to risk $700 to win $100 if you bet on DC. So even if you put $700 on DC and $250 on Lewis you still will lose $150 overall.

uhm i dont know what your talking about tbh. you initially said that DC is 7-1, I assume you mean he is 7/1 odds on, or 1/7 in fractional odds -700 in ML or 1.14 in decimals because obviously he isn't going to be a 7/1 underdog. but even then I have no idea how you worked out that you would lose $1750 on dc from a $250 bet on both fighters (regardless of the odds). if you bet both sides with dc at -700 and lewis at +500 then the amounts i stated are right. I have no idea why you are multiplying 250x7 when you should be multiplying it by 0.14 to get your profit on DC.

@IDGETKTFO thought you were saying DC is a 7-1 dog so he thought it's an easy freeroll.

Same thing, you're just going about betting it in a different way (the actual bottom line outcome should be the same at +700_+500)
Again, I made it easy in layman s math.
What don't you understand?
I feel like I have to pinch myself

you think betting $250 on each fighter means you will lose $1750 on dc if he loses?that's not the same thing at all. your making no sense at all why are you multiplying $250 by 7?? maybe it's makes sense too you but it sure as hell doesn't to anyone else in here

i think you wanted to bet on both sides enabling profit on one guy and breaking even on the other? this is a freeroll or arb. but the odds on dc mean that a $250 bet will return $35 profit. i have no clue what franklin is talking to himself about.
Lol- how is it a free roll if you get crushed on one side AND CAN'T MAKE A DOLLAR THE OTHER WAY?
WHAT IN THE FUCK?????[ it's a free roll for the house - lmao]
This is good ole eastern u.s bookmaking.
Try and follow :
You come to me with 500 dollars and say I want to bet 250 on DC -700 (7-1) and I also want to bet 250 on Lewis at +500 (5-1).I go " hold on a minute, gotta ask boss".I go back (laughing my ass off) and then come back and say " sure , no problem ".
He either just handed me 500 free money or he makes ZERO (he comes and gets his money back) depending on outcome.
What in the flying fuck is so hard to understand?

Dude, you have absolutely no clue about what you're talking about.Over the world, there isn't just one universal way of wagering on this game.
I broke it down nice and easy for you simple folk....just scroll up and read other posts. I'm tired and going to bed.

This. You continue to just outclass people or at least try and make them understand first before going the insult route.
You're one of the few posters that sherdog doesn't deserve.
And you're 1000 percent right - it's A FREE ROLL FOR THE HOUSE NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Road55 needs to think before he posts

it's not a freeroll. i didnt say it is. i implied if the odds were 7/1 like i thought the other guy thought, then he wanted too freeroll it. the hard thing to understand is why you think you will lose $1750 on a $250 bet and another $250 bet on the other guy. i get what your saying after much thought but you have phrased all of this terribly.

In other words the 500 dollars he hands me covers everything. If DC loses at 7-1 for 250, he loses 1750 (250×7) but he gets back 1250 (250×5) the other way with Lewis (cause Lewis won) so I just keep the 500 free and clear. If DC wins then the 250 washes out on both ends and he comes back and gets his 500 (he doesn't make anything).
The problem is that I politely tried to tell other guy that there isn't just one universal way in betting boxing/MMA.
I understood what you were saying from original post( the math).
No biggie (and I've been in the business for 16 years now since I was 23 but I didn't want to come across uppity by saying it)

this is all correct and i get what you were saying now, except that @IDGETKTFO originally said "bet $250 on dc" not bet 1/7 to win $250 which would need a $1750 bet like you were talking about. that's where the confusion started. betting dc for $250 would net you $35 profit. but i think the other guy thought you were saying 7/1 as a dog which would be the mother of all trades. what do you do in the business if you don't mind me asking.

Lol oddsmaker full time
Handicapper(honest one -self empl)(part time)- pretty sure it's on my sherdog profile (odds)
.....and the original post I responded to was the scenario that DC -700 (or 7-1)..
And the comeback was Lewis +500 (or 5-1) and he wanted to put 250 on both sides and see if he can profit money (which he cant).I should've just responded that Vegas , " houses", on line gaming or bookmakers dont give out free money .

oh cool, what sport do you cap odds for? I here mma needs a few more...
