Yes of course, but at the time I last did some shopping, you will pay like 9k for a nice 4k projector. There are upscaling ones that are noticeably better than 1080p but around the same price range.

I've owned a couple different projectors and if you have the means to create a perfectly dark room, it's many levels better than a TV, aside from the new shit that's incredibly thin and expensive.

I actually painted a 13x8 wall with white paint and centered the projection for a nice ~130" image. A TV that size probably costs a fortune, but it'll cost you $600 and a little extra work if you choose a projector.
