Treasury Dept release fake review of Tax plan.

The only President in our lifetimes to run a surplus was Clinton. Obama lowered the deficit from over $1T to less then $500B while shackled to a Congress that overtly stated they will not work with him on anything.

How do Republicans get your vote? Why don't you hold them to the same standard that you hold Democrats to?

I do. They get my vote by being something other then socialist lights. If a true conservative party emerged id vote them. I have in the past and would again. You seem to think you know ive voted in the past

Obviously you don't if you voted for Trump.

He was promising tax cuts on the campaign trail along with increased spending.

Im conservative. I dont belong to one of the teams... keep trying kiddo

If you're conservative you wouldn't have voted for Trump nor would you spend weeks on Sherdog obfuscating for him.

Trump isn't conservative, he didn't run on anything near a conservative platform.

U r full of shit.

Um im not? And entitlements make up a larger % of our budget

entitlement? what are you talking about?

if you are suggesting healthcare as an entitlement then no. Cost of healthcare has ballooned to unreasonable heights and we are paying for it regardless of whether the government is involved or not. Honestly it needs to be regulated by the government. And yet we have people in here thinking it shouldn't be regulated and it should be a free for all. Well guess what? We are getting fucked in the ass by healthcare cost (hospital, pharmaceutical, and insurance) because there is no one stopping them from doing it. Health care cost were growing disproportionally at least 2 years before the ACA came around. None of these industries are suffering and making massive profits and yet we need to give these huge corporations more tax breaks.

Or maybe the government can just pay back some of the money all the time forever since it's a government and doesn't live a finite existence like a human?

Do you understand how interest works? Eventually the debt and subsequent interest will cause the US to cut other programs anyway.

Then our grand kids or great-grand kids are going to be screwed because we wouldn't do the right thing.

We control the interest rates and print the money, it'll be ok.

No, we don't control the interest rates on our debt. If we did it would be 0 or .1%

And simply printing money will cause inflation.

edit- For the love of all that is holy; can some econ guys get in here and explain this.

We absolutely control the rates on interest, the majority of the government debt, 95%, are treasury bonds which are issued by the treasury with an interest rate they decide depending on the length of the bond.

We have been printing money non stop for decades, and inflation while actual, has been totally manageable. We've printed more money in the past 20 years then there has ever existed in human history and inflation has been like 2-3% annually.

The costs were balloning due to subsidies

Yes and that had been occurring long before ACA came into place. Numbers shows that the cost actually slowed down a year or more after ACA was implemented but it's still going up. There should be more regulations in place to control these subsidies and how much industries are charging.

When a pharma company can increase their price for drugs with patents that have expired long ago 12-20% EVERY year even though they were already making a good profit goes to shows how greedy the entire industry is. It's wasteful because no one is regulating.

I have a cousin who works as a nurse and he gets paid top dollars to sit on his ass and do work every once in a while.

I had surgery earlier this year and the anesthesia was around mid 2k. I paid $200 out of pocket and they waived $1000 while my insurance picked up the rest. But there are insurance plans out there that pick up the whole tab. Guess what? it should not cost almost 3k for 2-3hrs of work and yet they are charging that much because some insurance are paying that out.

It's also all linked on how industries can fund our politicians and pay for their fuckin' votes and hence why nothing productive gets done for the consumers and the big corporations (in this example pharma, hospitals, and insurance) get away with everything.

Personally I wouldn't mind raising the tax on huge corporations and using that extra money to pay our politicians and then close their fund raising loopholes or whatever they are getting. Every industry pays for their campaigning so its all equal and once they're voted in, they get a general pay to do their fuckin' job without any side shit. If caught taking any sort of bribery, jail time! Then our politicians would be working for us instead of whoever has a big checkbook. I am sure theres a lot of issues with my idea but let's not pretend our politicians aren't being bribed for their votes right now...

No it shows when you subsidize there is no incentive to keep prices down

You'll never see major cuts to entitlements because the one's that make up the most of entitlement spending are one's used by those "fiscal conservatives" such as SS and Medicare. They delude themselves into thinking its the minority welfare queens who are taking their hard earned money. I'd kill to see a GOP candidate run on the promise of cutting these.
