TUF Tate VS Rousey EPISODE 12 DISCUSSION

I didn't say that someone needed to be liked to sell well. Go back and find where I said that. I even addressed the Mayweather post, so you can have a look at that, too. Hate can be a marketing tool. I never said it couldn't. I've doubted the contention that it is just as valuable as being loved. Care to address what I've actually argued rather than the straw man you've erected?

Even if I wasn't bored by your glaring inability to follow a simple discussion, it's really proving to be a waste of time discussion this with you at this point.

so you are basically saying that you were not arguing with my point? but felt the need to argue with me anyway?? okily dokily

You know what's worse than sitting through an episode without a fight? Having to hear the usual people bitching to each other in this thread, even when they actually agree on the same subject fundamentally.

that scene when ronda talks alone to dana looks like a beginning of a porn scene hahaha

Wow, that's not at all what I said. I said that my point of contention was whether or not being hated is as good as being loved. That is as per my original post to you. At first you tried to argue against it but have gone down this tangent of who is more famous, Brock or future-Rousey (again, it's irrelevant). You really suck at logic and have a horrible memory. Let me refresh it, Mr. Goldfish.

this isnt the WWE, it doesnt matter whether a champion is liked or not...... as long as they still get a reaction from fans(be that positive or negative) is good for the UFC

As long as they sell tickets and PPVs, it's still good. Do you really think a hated champion sells them as well as a loved one?

Brock sold really well, and everyone hated him

Brock was a star before he came to the UFC and has a whole different audience. Who was Ronda before the UFC and who knew her?

He was super-famous as a WWE guy. In professional wrestling, they build these guys up so much with all the fake drama that they are like characters in a movie for these nerds that watch that shit who are almost the perfect demographic for the UFC to convert... Also, not everyone hated him. A lot of people were sort of in love with his physique. They respected his strength and power rather than his personality. If he was loved by the people that hated him, instead, he might have done even better.

Ronda was quite a big star before the UFC, joining the UFC just catapulted her to a new level

Then you wanted to argue that Ronda will be bigger than Brock soon as if that was relevant to what we were discussing. As any rational person can see, it is you that veered off course. I'm trying to bring you back to the point at hand. And apparently you just can't understand that fact.

Leaving level of fame/infamy as a constant, is it better to be loved or hated? That is the question.

Then just go away man. You do this every thread; come in here on your high horse pretending you're some rational bringer of truth, when really you're just a Ronda fan who is smart enough to keep his mouth shut when she's acting ridiculously, wait for the fallout, then call out whoever criticizes her in retrospect.

lol how did I veer off course? I was responding to both you and gervinho. maybe you were reading a response to him as one to you? it was actually Gervinho that asked who was more famous, I simply replied

Im actually done responding to you...... posting on sherdog used to be fun, Id have a debate, the occasional joke etc. but you strip all the fun out of everything lol

Still feeling angry and disappointed that big bad meanie Rousey didn't throw Anthony under the bus the way you were hoping huh?

You veered off course when you thought this was a discussion of who will be more famous in the future: Ronda or Brock. It's irrelevant. Brock was a bad example that you brought up to show that hate is just as good as popularity in terms of sales since he was hated by some and still sold well. However, Brock sold because he was super famous not because he was hated. When both Gervinho and I made that point, it was because we were saying that Brock was not a good PPV seller because he was hated, but despite it due to his existing audience. He brought people over from WWE. Ronda will sell more if she captures a bigger audience like Brock. Becoming hated will not make her the next Brock. And if she was instead loved, she could be the next GSP, but be a finisher at the same time. If she combines that with her rising fame, that's probably a better scenario than becoming a heel. It's really very simple, MayhemMonkey919.

I won't be sad to see you go. You are always the first to start flaming if someone disagrees with you, not the reverse. You're also an obvious Ronda WK. Buh bye, now!

She cut weight to show that he could easily have done it. That's not throwing him under the bus?

lol clown, who said Im going anywhere?? also I dont flame people, I like to get along with everyone(even the posters that dont agree with me)

yep. the whole weight cutting thing smelled of "no. look, that was all on anthony having no heart. look i can easily cut the weight and i don't even have a fight coming up. and i also ate at the BBQ we threw them, and had some of the burgers that we brought them, and drank some of the cocktails that i made them. it's not my fault if anthony couldn't make the cut"

she even said to dana when she was talking about it "he wouldn't even keep trying for the last hour, and i just need to let them know it was possible."

the ronda whole weight cutting thing was to show her team that anthony could have done it, but he was a quitter.

meisha says "he wouldn't even keep trying, it's pathetic" and ronda runs to her team to tell the gossip. but ronda goes as far as dropping the weight herself to show everyone that it could be done, and anthony just didn't have the heart.

that was her way of lifting the guilt off her shoulders and placing it back on anthony's

Still feeling angry and disappointed that big bad meanie Rousey didn't throw Anthony under the bus the way you were hoping huh?
if meisha saying that it was pathetic for cody to quit even trying to make weight was throwing him under the bus, then ronda cutting the weight herself to prove how easily it can be done was her throwing anthony under a convoy of buses

I did not see anthony missing weight after the cody incident. I was hoping for a great fight between him and David Grant.

Ronda making weight i didnt think it was necessary. If ronda made weight it doesnt mean much. 17 pounds in 24 hours I dont think is impossible hard yes. But I have heard of crazier weight cuts.

It must suck and it makes you wonder had cody not quit could anthony have made weight. I know TUF said he was 1 pound away when he was going to fight cody. But Anthony did say he was 141 the morning off when he was probably higher.

Not what I expected. I still saw david grant for the win.

You said you were done responding to me, yet here you are, responding to me. You also expressed the opinion that posting on sherdog wasn't fun anymore. If that's the case, you should leave, obviously. I wouldn't shed any tears.

I've seen you fling unprovoked insults on numerous occasions, even in this thread, when people disagree with you.

What?
Do you really think Miesha thew her number 1 pick who fucked her over and wasted her time "Under the bus"?

Didn't Manny throw him "Under the bus"

You're apostle without the manic depression.

apostle. Post #472. Can you legitimately respond to it? :)

I've responded to those same remarks about a million times discussing this with wayweary already, so this cute little giddiness you have over the whole thing is pretty unnecessary. I get that you guys keep clinging to Ronda saying she started it first, but the point of fact is that Miesha talked shit first. That's just a fact, and its been pointed out ad nauseum by myself and others. What the hell Ronda is talking about is anybody's guess, but before Ronda said any of that shit, Tate was publicly bashing her skills and claiming she wasn't even a fighter. Now run along son.

You are delusional. It's official.

Or supply what Miesha first said that started shit. I dare ya.

That's been done already over and over again, while you stick your fingers in your ears, stamp your feet, and scream "la la la la". And spare the "I dare you" garbage. You're an anonymous nobody bickering about something trivial and if getting into internet pissing contests is the highlight of your day than your name should be in every prayer chain across the globe, regardless of religion.

As for what Tate said, before Ronda said one negative remark, Tate said Ronda was more interested in self promotion than promoting martial arts. She also said the only reason Ronda was getting a title shot was because she was pretty, and The truth is, going into this world title fight with me, Ronda is still to discover whether she is even a real fighter."

That's called trash talk, though I'm sure because its Tate you'll spin it somehow, not that I give a fuck. Have fun with that.
