Not sure why it is talking about Moiraine, the story is mainly told from the perspective of three dudes, one of whom uses magic which is slowly driving him insane.

I just thought it was funny.

Like someone hyping me up a to watch a sports game,

Then it's women sports.

Netflix Announces Plans to Develop THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA TV and Film Series

Netlifx announced on Wednesday plans to create new series and film projects based on C.S. Lewis' beloved book series, The Chronicles of Narnia.

The streaming service is creating content based on Lewis' seven books in the franchise, including the late author's famous 1950 novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

"It is wonderful to know that folks from all over are looking forward to seeing more of Narnia, and that the advances in production and distribution technology have made it possible for us to make Narnian adventures come to life all over the world," said Douglas Gresham, the writer's stepson, in a statement released by Netflix. "Netflix seems to be the very best medium with which to achieve this aim, and I am looking forward to working with them toward this goal."

Under the terms of a multiyear deal between Netflix and The C.S. Lewis Company, Netflix will develop classic stories from across the Narnia universe into multiple projects. All series and films produced through the deal will be Netflix productions, with Mark Gordon of Entertainment One (eOne) producing. Gresham and Vincent Sieber will serve as executive producers for the series and as producers for the films.

"C.S. Lewis’ beloved Chronicles of Narnia stories have resonated with generations of readers around the world," said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix. "Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come."

To date, Lewis' Narnia books have sold more than 100 million copies globally and have been translated into more than 47 languages.

Netflix isn't the first to adapt Lewis' books for film and television. Disney released movie adaptations of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian in 2005 and 2008, respectively, while Fox released The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010. Altogether, the trio of films grossed more than $1 billion internationally. The BBC produced a TV series based on the books as well, which aired throughout the 1980s.

The purge TV show is really good, this franchise is becoming one of my favorite.
Yeah, despite the silliness of the whole 'Purge' idea, the show is pretty good so far.
I just watched 'The First Purge' the other night, and it was a solid little B movie

It seems the live-action Star Wars TV show is going to be about a Mandalorian.

First Awesome Teaser for Amazon's THE BOYS Debuted at New York Comic-Con

In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, THE BOYS centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “The Boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than their blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. THE BOYS is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes. THE BOYS is scheduled for a 2019 release.

Simon Pegg Joins the Cast of Amazon's THE BOYS, Set to Play Hughie's Father

Simon Pegg has joined the cast of Amazon’s The Boys. The actor, who was the inspiration for the visual look of the comic book’s Hughie, will play the role of the character’s dad, Hughie Sr., he announced via crashing the show’s New York Comic Con panel. Pegg will be a guest star in the first season.

On the series, the two Hughies are initially alike. “He spent most of his time sitting on the couch eating pizza rolls and watching Remington Steele,” Pegg said. “Hughie is the one who breaks that cycle; Hughie’s father is a specter of his own inaction.”

The casting also marks a reunion for Urban and Pegg, who have worked on the recent Star Trek film franchise together. “The real reason [he took the job] is we have a competition between us who can be in the most franchises.” Urban joked. Added Pegg: “We’re a couple of franchise whores and we’re very proud of it.”

First Image for Star Wars Live-Action TV Series THE MANDALORIAN; Episode Directors Revealed

Dos4jRbXsAAYNnE.jpg:large

Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Dave Filoni are among the helmers that will direct The Mandalorian, the first Star Wars live-action series.

The eight-episode show is bowing on Disney’s streaming service in 2019, with Jon Favreau exec producing alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Filoni.

Lucasfilm has been mum on details so far but earlier this week issued the following synopsis: "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."

The directors list showcases a range of filmmaker experience and breadth.

Filoni, whose longtime Star Wars connections go back to directing the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie, will direct the first episode.

Waititi is an actor who many consider made one of the stronger Marvel Studios movies with Thor: Ragnarok. He helmed the well regarded mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows and is now in post on Jojo Rabbit, a satire set in Nazi Germany in which he also plays Adolph Hitler.

Chow has worked on a range of genre television, from episodes of Reign and Fear the Walking Dead to Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Lost in Space.

Howard is best known for her acting repertoire, such as the Jurassic World movies and The Help. She has in recent years branched out into directing shorts.

Famuyiwa drew acclaim for his coming-of-age comedy Dope.

Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra Will Star as Ciri and Yennefer in THE WITCHER TV Series

Netflix's The Witcher series has found its Yennefer and Ciri. Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds, Into The Badlands) and Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders, Wanderlust) join Henry Cavill as Ciri and Yennefer, respectively, in the upcoming fantasy series based on the series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The books previously inspired a bestselling video game franchise by Warsaw-based game studio CD Projekt Red.

Ciri is the young princess of Cintra, one of the kingdoms at the center of the plot. Yennefer, meanwhile, is a sorceress and Geralt of Rivia's (Cavill) main love interest. She is also a mother figure to Ciri.

Rounding out the rest of the cast are Jodhi May (Game of Thrones, Genius) as Queen Calanthe; Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (Fortitude) as her husband, the knight Eist; Adam Levy (Knightfall, Snatch) as the druid Mousesack; MyAnna Buring as the head of the magical academy at Aretuza, Tissaia; Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers; and Millie Brady as the outcast Princess Renfri.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who previously served as producer on Netflix's Daredevil and The Defenders, will run the show and exec produce alongside House of Cards and Game of Thrones' Alik Sakharov.

Last month, Hissrich took a break from social media following backlash from an outspoken set of fans over a leaked casting notice calling for Black, Asian and minority ethnic actresses for the role of Ciri (the casting call was just one of many for the role as Hissrich explains she was casting a large net for potential actresses). She has since returned to the social media platform.
