UFC 227 PPV #'s are in

Didn't care for the rematches being so soon but it was a very fun card. Glad they had some success with it.

UFC 227 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles, a show headlined by T.J. Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt for the bantamweight title and Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo for the flyweight title, is currently estimated at doing 300,000 buys

The number was well above most expectations for the show, which also drew the largest live crowd the company has ever drawn at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, beating out such major fights as Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie and Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano.

who cares not all ppvs sell 1.5 million

Just stack the manlet cards with manlets. The 300k manlet lovers will tune in.

I think it has more to do with Dillashaw getting a good promotional rub from UFC 217; Namajunas got one too and was part of a 360k buyrate in her rematch against Joanna.

300k is big money now? Wow back in the golden era, 300k would be a failure
They also had half as many events back then, lower PPV cost, and a smaller cut from the cable company.

300k for what appeared to be 2 bullshit rematches that fans didn't want
Pretty good
Gotta admit I got drawn in, especially TJ's bout. Was heavily anticipating the snake striking and he delivered venom a plenty!

300k manlet buys are like 80 - 90k real buys.

Not impressive.

sorry
Derp do you realise 227 outsold 226?

TJ/Cody/Cejudo, OUT SOLD and OUT DREW "DC's 2 belts" lmao.

The "manelt" divisions is where it's truly at

In boxing, the biggest stars were all under 160 and mostly at 147 (Canelo/Oscar/Manny/Floyd/Cotto)

Now MMA is finally starting to catch up

The lower weight classes have all the true depth and talent. Now the lower weight classes are going to take over in PPVs just like has always been the case in boxing

I have been calling it out for a while that MMA would eventually become like boxing, once MMA got further developed, where the lower weight classes would take over in every respect.

Conor kickstarted it by bringing so much attention to 145

Every one should thank Conor

Bless Conor

I don't know where this weird insane misconception about size came from in MMA

No one likes watching big uncoordinated sloths like Jones, Rumble, DC

4 of the 5 highest selling UFC PPVs of all time (all by Conor) were FW/LW/WW fights

Lesnar is the only big man who sells

If you take out Jones's fights against DC and Rashad, then Jon Jones has a 250k PPV average which is pathetic lol. Even including those fights Jones still averages 500k lmao. He's not even in the top 5.

It's all about the lower weight classes. Conor the greatest star in combat sports history is a career FW. Conor owns 4 of the 5 highest selling UFC PPVs of all time. That is going to rub off on those weight classess. Again, thank Conor and bless Conor

Get use to it, it's all about the lower weight classes (depth, talent, PPV buys)

If you want big men go watch freak show fights in Japan. Maybe when Jones gets suspended for 4years he can go compete in those freak show fights in Japan. Im sure that will clench your thirst for big uncoordinated sloppy LHW/HW fights

Hilarious how this is a success these days.

It's really bad. Exactly 1 year ago people were saying Jon Jones was proven NOT to be a draw when Jones-Cormier 2 did 900k. And 9 months ago people said GSP was NO LONGER a draw when UFC 217 also did 900k.

Now 2 guys get the rub from GSP and that same PPV, and they do 300k, and we're celebrating.

What are you, a shill for team Jones?

Jones vs DC 2 "reportdedly" did 800-850k.

Jones has never in his life gotten even 900k let alone 1 million. While fighters like Weidman have hit 1 million.

However Ive heard from good sources that Jones vs DC 2 actually did 700k. There are no official reports

Regardless take away DC (and Rashad) and Jones's PPV average is 250k.

227 did 50k more. They out drew Jones's baseline average

Jones is not even a top 5 draw.

And the only fights of his that have ever even sold, were super hyped fights against DC (where Jones still failed to break 1 million)

Jones is such a pathetic draw that not even Chael Sonnen could get Jones to 1million

Jones is the only time that a Sonnen PPV flopped. That's how bad of a draw Jones is

Bruh, this is some misleading bullshit. Weidman ''hit 1 million'' in a rematch against Anderson Silva (the star) on a card that also had Ronda-Miesha 2 on it.

1) Everything that was ever officially released says Jones-Cormier 2 did between 850k-900k, with almost every exact estimate at about 860k.

2) We're comparing it to current cards doing 300k or less.

3) You are omitting 2 fights with DC, 1 with Rashad, 1 with Chael. Just cuz u feel like it.

4) Your "sources" say 214 only did 700k. Still more than double the last card, and lol at your good sources.

5) I'm the shill

You sound like a bigger fuckin idiot every time you post. Are you aware of that?

TJ and Cody are awesome. Glad people tuned in and they earned some money.

Also hope MM got nothing for dat duckin' shit he pulled on TJ. Can't fight you brah, I'm hurt.....then comes and fights on the same card. FUCK THAT SHIT!!

No, it's a cold hard FACT.

Jones fans are like liberals who still try to argue against facts "Bu misleading, bu mu alternative facts"

Anderson himself WAS NOT a draw UNTIL SONNEN.

Sonnen MADE Anderson a "draw"

Jones fought that same Sonnen and couldn't even do half the numbers

Even more proof of how PATHETIC of a draw Jones actually is
