UFC FN OSP vs Okami draws reported 8,571 attendance in Japan(lowest attendance ever at the SS Arena)

Yeah very true. I agree. And also back then there used to be much less cards so it was easier to crave UFC, but now there is often cards every week or every 2 weeks and it just becomes a bit of a chore to watch after a while, especially some of these Fight Night events.
Yeah way to many cards ... back in like 08 you had to catch every event because there was one ppv a month and maybe a fight on tv every few months ..

Too many fighters, too many, divisions, too many cards.

1 PPV a month, two Fight Nights a month feature up and coming fighters. Only big names on the PPVs, period. Oh, only Featherweight and up.

hard to say, it was early in the morning.

Well Japanese are used to pride type presentation

You can't show up with your inferior looking product n expect ppl to show up

I thought it was a great card. Claudia & Jessica was fight of the weekend. I am looking for to seeing Nelson in Bellytor, keeps me on my diet.

So, UFC is supposed to set up uneven matches in order to favor a certain fighter just to please the Japanese public?

Well they did give Conor all the favourable matchups in order for him to win the title

Claudia Jessica fight was amazing .. rest of the card was just ok . If it wasn't for the girl fight the card would of been kind of lame .

Not a good card to bring to Japan.

Gohkan's debut was exciting, his superior level of striking was evident. Also seeing OSP hit the von flue again was great, big man jiu jitsu. Hell even Formiga showed awesome technique. I really liked seeing teruto getting bagged over & over.

When you're lacking in stars and have two bald guys who don't fight competing to be the face of the company, what can you expect?

UFC doesn't know how to do a hometown card. Japan doesn't want to see their fighters lose. The reason why Rizin is popular is because they do squash matches. Yeah its a circus but that is how you build a fanbase in a different country. You want the native fighter to win.
Maybe Japan should get better at fighting. Shouldn't have to make them feel better by doing squash matches

I rarely watch weak cards anymore, unless one of my favorites is fighting. Also, I just stream it.

There is something wrong with UFC, its not to do with the depth of the cards, sorry but thats the way it is. Ok guys here is some examples. UFC 122 for example was a awful card, very poor card for a PPV event.. that was in Germany but it sold out in 6 hours. UFC 72 which was a awful card for PPV sold out in under 1 hour in Ireland.

But these days shitty cards won't sell, but they used too back 6 or 7 years ago. UFC is just not as popular as it once was, there is no doubt about it. the bars and restaurants don't even screen UFC PPV's anymore here, there used to be lots of places here that showed UFC PPV's but now there is none, or there is 1 bar that does but only for certain UFC events.

I chatted too one of the guys before who used to screen UFC PPV's in his bar here and he told me he stopped doing it at UFC 132 because its too expensive to screen them and not enough people are interested or demanding it.
interesting - i honestly think the whole ufc trying to be more "professional" looking and mainstream like going w/ reebok, the fox deal etc. realy hurt the hardcore fan base. now they can sell 1.5 million ppvs if conor is on it but now everything else doesnt even crack 300k. they tried to reach out to casuals by making it more mainstream and the casuals arent becoming hardcore fans they only tune in when its a big PPV where as b4 they had a great strong dedicated fan base that sold out events quicker and more often AND would buy more PPVs also

the UFC lost a part of its identity these past 3-4 years
