UFC is getting dull!!

If the fights are dull, don't watch. Thanks for the shitpost.

"not enough drama in the UFC" cries on John Cena pillow

Don't watch then, you fucking dunce. Jesus Christ you people whine a lot.

Homogenized marketing and uniforms that lack effort and style. Fighter #234 against Fighter #412 in every other fight. Great fighters are on the shelf more than in the cage. No attempts to cultivate any semblance of personality. Win a fight? Say you're ready for whomever is next. Want a personality? You better be "the bad guy" and have blue eyes, blond hair, and speak english good. Else it ain't happening.

Last card was fun. I enjoy the early cards and the match ups were well done.

Poor condit

They need to spice it up more. Starting with entrances.
In general they just need to embrace personality. Yeah, you'll get some crappy personas... but we're getting those anyway... so why not allow the good ones to flourish?

Say what you will about Pride embracing pro-wrestling too much... but they and Rizin have always allowed personas to show and fans latch on to them so much more. Even when you can tell they're slightly forced, you can remember a fighter so much better if you like them. And in the case where someone is simply stoic, they stand out tremendously (Aleksander E).

UFC still wants the fights to be about the UFC not the fighter. Probably afraid a fighter will turn into Connor and end up not needing the UFC to make money. They don't want fighters to be bigger than the company. I don't think it is the best way to advance your sport. Like you said, they need to promote personalities. You don't have to be a prick in order to make people interested in a fighter.

Women watch soap operas for their fantasy show, guys watch the UFC in action, all made up bullshit hatred and watered down cards rammed down our throats. I stopped paying for events at UFC 100, that was my last one i purchased. Things in the UFC are bad right now, I doubt it can even be fixed anymore, contained and controlled i guess but never fixed. This is the new UFC era and I myself don't watch often anymore.

I have fight pass because i'm a shill and started watching the UFC back through from UFC 1, I'm currently on UFC 52 (and i hate to be some kind of MMA hipster) but re-watching the old events did make me realised how grey and monotone the current events are. I cant put my finger on it but there is a magic in the old UFC events that isn't there today.

Maybe its nostalgia but I think the UFC changed somewhere along the way to something more corporate.
I miss seeing specialists, too many people look and move the same nowadays imo.

Its certainly not the same as it once was. Too many reasons to list. Most won't be fixed though

Belts no longer matter because Champions do not defend
UFC brass is OK with Champions not defending as long they can keep paying them shit
Rankings no longer matter because trash talk is more important than skill
Fighters being forced to fight safe because they don't get paid enough to be able to deal with long layoffs or injuries
Fighters not being able to make their own sponsorship money, so again, can't deal with long layoffs or injuries
Fighters often look like idiots because of Reebok (Diaper boy?)
WWE bullshit dragging in casuals that know nothing of the sport (hear the booing the instant the fight goes to the ground at UFC Fox 29) and UFC is catering toward them.

Also, this is how it is going to go until the next generation of fighters comes in accepting USADA

Actually this was a decent thread until your stupid post. At least people are trying to come up with solutions, while you, well, , , aren't...

What is happening guys? The excitement is being drained out of the company..

The endless amounts of pull outs in big fights is ruining cards.. then they replace them with a bum and still expect us to pay for this crap!!

The interim belts - let's hand them out to everyone if the title holder can't defend his belt for whatever reason. The LW division has 3 fighters currently on the roster that hasn't lost the belt.

Women's division - I don't mind the women's division but please don't make a women's fight a actual main event! It cheapens the whole card.

Conor McGregor - he brought so much attention to MMA and in the same breath till it all away with his fight with Mayweather.

It's all about making money with these guys at present and we're just getting endless events of just garbage fights!! Let's just stick to 1 event a month and stack it with great fights.. Let's get the company back to where it once was.
If you don't like it, nobody is forcing you to watch. I love watching the fights and it does not matter to me who is fighting. I'm watching anyways. I don't care if its two amateurs, as long as its a good fight with some action, I love it. Don't need no "star power" to be a good card.

There are to many fight cards and way to many fighters. With all these fight cards it's hard to keep track as to who is who. There is a definite lack of star power right now, and there are way to many interim champions. Don't get me wrong, I still love watching UFC events. However, 5 years ago I knew every champion and every guy that was top 10, now I can't even come close.
Sounds like you have not paid attention. In MMA, careers are short, title reigns are very short and the roster turnover is always high. It about the fight, the sport and the styles, not necessarily the fighters.

I get why pople say things like this. Seems like the sport waxes and wanes.

I think when things get kinda bleh in MMA is when you stop following the peripherals of the sport and just focus on the fights.

Time to build up some new stars... Plus this year hasn't been that bad... some good scraps. If you think it is getting dull... be sure to watch Cormier - Stipe. That will renew your faith.

For me, a lot of the fights don't mean anything anymore.

You can win 10 in a row but if you can't put butts in the seats, you're not going to fight for the belt.

Bring back a tournament format so the most "deserving" actually fights for the belt.
