UFC *might not be bigger than soccer, but is better

Soccer is gay but it’s much better than mma. Shows how poor that is if anything

Shocker that Dana’s “mma will be bigger than the NFL and soccer” statement years ago hasn’t happened yet. Maybe someday....
Soccer is actually getting more popular in the US.

The biggest reason is the American culture, they like violence and are entertained by it. They wet their pants watching men in medieval armour bumping each other, Nascar cars crashing each other and beating each other in the ring. It’s no coincidence that the overwhelming majority of the “extreme sport” fanbase are Americans.

Meanwhile, football is embedded in 80% of the world’s culture. There’s a reason why it’s dubbed as the “beautiful game” sport because cultures all over the world comes in and play in harmony. Football is accessible to anyone and gives hope to millions and brings people together like nothing else in sports. Like nothing else in the world. A single goal has a value and significance unlike other ball sports. It’s played by the brains.

Americans needs let go of this, nothing can beat football. It’s a global sport. The biggest and the most popular sport in the world.
Fucking lol at this nonsense.

The “beautiful game sport” where the fans constantly riot and beat the shit out of each other? Must be those damned American violence fans at all the games.

Im no die hard soccer fan by all means. So my opinion is probably biased.... But even when i didnt know much about MMA, ot was still better.

I have been waking up at 8am to watch some World Cup Games and ive yet gotten an adrenaline rush.

MMA is constant suspense.

UFC > World Cup

UFC226 > World Cup Finals

(*might= is absolutely and will forever not be...)

I completely agree that MMA is a superior sport to soccer. American Gridiron Football is better than any sport though.

Well you sure presented a strong argument to the contrary.

is a strong argument even needed ? Fairly obvious association football is the greatest sport on the planet...

Soccer is the greatest sport no doubt but I have been watching a lot more NFL the last few years. A lot of people I speak to have one gripe with the NFL and it puts them off...the number of breaks in play. A game that consists of 4 quarters at 15 mins each can last up to 3 hrs.

Did you even read the post you quoted....? I responded to someone saying Soccer isnt popular with Americans because their culture wants to see violence. Yet its the Soccer fans rioting and beating the shit out of each other world wide lol.

Love both. There are good/shitty soccer games and good/shitty MMA cards. At the end of the day they scratch completely different itches. You arent getting the violence and split second game ending moments (ie flash KOs etc) in soccer, but you arent getting the scale, teamwork, storied rivalries, crazy fanbases, fantastical goals etc in MMA.

The only itch UFC "scratches" is the ghey itch.

I'm speaking for everyone when I say Bernard Hopkins had it right when he compared UFC to ghey pornography.
