I can't think of any other response to the whining in the OP.
 
Lol, the company I work at will kick people's teeth in if you ever try. Their is a reason Airbus has bought up Bombardiar, and Boeing in effect has bought up Embraer.

Canada doesnt have a real airplane manufacturer, because Boeing and Airbus won't let you have one.

That's unfortunate.

Now we can watch the world pass us in air superiority. I really wish Canada would build a domestic fighter, that will never happen as long as the liberal party exists.

The last domestic fighter jet project in Canada was started under the liberals, and cancelled by the conservatives, essentially destroying the possibility of us ever being able to jump back into the design of fighter jets.

Purchasing these jets doesn't affect the procurement process, which I will admit, is needlessly long, and risks being upended by the 2019 elections.
 
Could be worse. Australia is spending $17 Billion on 72 F-35s (for starters).
