Cenk went full Alex Jones drama queen in that segment, but he's right.

For my money a highly underrated band when it comes to beautiful guitar-work.

@oleDirtyBast4rd banned? What happened there?

He was wrong about his previous ban being a "mistake" and he failed to abide by the terms under which he was allowed to return. If posters don't heed the warnings and infractions they receive and continue with the same behaviour, it'll always lead to the same result.

ODB wasn't the most odious poster here. Shame he couldn't check himself fo he wrecked himself. I kinda liked his woodworking updates.

I think you two are talking past each other. Greoric is likely talking about cultural marxism which is something that was created long after Marx was in his grave. That was an in part an attempt to figure out how to implement the principles laid out in Das Kapital.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankfurt_School

I read that, and there is no intersection between the "Frankfurt School" and immigration policy, and it is certainly not related to the criticism of Ryan's move (it would also be a mistake to call that "Marxism"). Doesn't it just sound like Greoric is getting his understanding of philosophy from a low-brow talk-show host and trying to throw out buzzwords that he doesn't understand in order to puff himself up? Like with the "k-selectef" bullshit that he was briefly excited about. If he wants to understand where other people are coming from, he should just try reading them, and in good faith, but he's more interested in projecting the appearance of learnedness than he is in learning.

Maybe not the most, but definitely right up there. I lost the bet on who would be banned next, but I'll take it. Have to admit I'd love to see what got him banned just out of curiosity, but you know, eventual dead cat and all.

Cenk is pissed off at NYT and MSNBC

I basically never watch this guy, so I don't know any of these people enough to dislike them, but that guy on the left needs a rhetorical punch in the face. How do you interrupt someone with, "May I say something," and then follow it with, "I mean..." and then nothing? Ugh. Interrupting is easy and talking is hard, I guess.

I have no comment on MSNBC's hiring practices other than that the public can make up their minds whether to watch them, I guess. I'm just confused about 1 thing, how is Cenk's opinion so valuable all of a sudden, when any other day he's a progressive libtard? I would say it's because even someone you have huge issues with can say the occasional agreeable thing and you can point that out without being hypocritical, but that doesn't seem to be a valid argument when it is applied to people like Trump or his cronies.

Oh god.

Saying Tim Burton's Batman is better than The Dark Knight is an opinion so facially ludicrous that it's hard for me to believe that you're not trying to fuck with me. The Dark Knight is superior in every possible way: much better writing, much better direction, much better acting, much better effects, much better locations and sets.

1. The Dark Knight - 10/10
2. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm: 9.5/10
3. Batman: Under the Red Hood - 8.5/10
4. Batman Begins - 8/10
5. Batman: Year One - 7.5/10
6. The Dark Knight Rises - 7/10
7. Batman: Subzero - 7/10
8. Batman: The Killing Joke: 5/10
9. Batman (1989): 4/10
10. Batman (1966): 3/10
11. Batman Forever: 3/10
12. Batman Returns: 3/10
13. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: 2/10
14. Batman & Robin: 1/10
Lold good at a grown man typing this up. A grown man gave a batman movie 10/10 <45>

Fucking college kids LOL

More than that, Cenk is complaining about how the MSM and even a left-leaning channel are anti-progressive. Does @Devout Pessimist agree with that criticism or does he just approve of any criticism of the media at all, regardless of the content? Or did the quote not imply approval?

IMO the fat mad guy is of course right that the MSM has a rightward and (separately) pro-Republican bias, but he seems to think that he expected something different. And I don't think the criticism was particularly sophisticated.

R.I.P. ODB :(

Cenk’s going to have a heart attack on air someday.

I disagree. The Frankfurt school aim was to postulate and promote the conditions needed to bring forth the communist state. That is a broad departure from Marx that saw communism as a inevitable reaction to capitalism rather than something that needed to be implemented. WWI was one of the several events that triggered this paradigm shift in communist theory. The fact workers remained loyal to their nation state and fought other members of their class made communist and socialist theorist realize that the nation state and principals of nationalism needed to be weakened. This would make members of their proletariat find more solidarity with their class than nation. Thus, making the implementation of communism more achievable. Based on that and implementing the goals of the Frankfurt school the strength of the nation state must be weakened in order to implement communism. Mass immigration is a way to achieve that because the influx of immigrants weakened the ties of the workers to their nation. @Greoric this is what you were getting at right? btw @Trotsky do you have anything to add here?

You know what movie gets a lot of love but actually really sucks? Batman (1989) by Tim Burton.

The story is idiotic and incoherent and the direction is just bad. In fact, for that matter, Tim Burton sucks in general. All of his movies are terrible.

I would not go as far as saying all of Burton's movies are terrible. Burton's Batman movies were entertaining. The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissor Hands are decent movies. I don't think he has put out a good movie since Batman Returns which came out in 1995.
